Story of Grandchild's Sandals Joining Grandmother's Hajj Pilgrimage
Not only sandals, there are pilgrims who mark their suitcases with dolls.
Dream – Every pilgrim must strive to undergo every process of performing hajj according to the requirements and in its entirety. Apart from being part of the obligatory rituals, we also hope that the Islamic pillars we perform will bring us the status of being an accepted hajj.
The term accepted hajj is used to refer to pilgrims who have completed the entire process of hajj and have been accepted by Allah SWT, followed by rewards and forgiveness. The term 'mabrur' comes from the Arabic language which means 'accepted well' or 'performed with perfection'.
Accepted hajj is the result of performing hajj with sincerity, sincerity, and carrying out all the pillars and procedures of hajj according to the established guidelines. The signs of accepted hajj often reflect high obedience and compliance with Allah's commands, as well as avoiding all forms of disobedience during and after performing the pilgrimage.
Those who perform hajj certainly hope that their hajj is accepted. In this way, a person will find it easier to attain the pleasure of Allah and receive the reward of heaven.
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said that the reward for an accepted hajj is paradise, as stated in the hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari as follows:
لاَ يَسْتَحِقُّ الْحَاجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ غَيْرُ الْجَنَّةِ
Meaning: "There is no reward worthy of an accepted hajj except paradise." (HR. Bukhari)
Similar to that hadith, there is another hadith that supports the idea that the reward for an accepted hajj is paradise. One of them is the hadith narrated by Imam Nasa'i as follows:
The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) said:
لاَ يَسْتَحِقُّ الْحَاجُّ الْمَبْرُورُ غَيْرُ الْجَنَّةِ
Meaning: "There is no reward for the hajj other than paradise." (HR An-Nasa'i)
From the above hadiths, it is clear that the status of an accepted hajj is one of the gates to paradise.
Actually, the title of accepted hajj is the prerogative of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to bestow upon the servant He wishes. A person's hajj can be called mabrur if they become better than before and do not repeat acts of disobedience and sins.
As explained in the book Kitab Syarhus Suyuthi Sunan an-Nasa'i by Jalaluddin as-Suyuthi as follows:
الْمَبرُورُ : الْحَجُّ الْمَقْبُولُ الْمُجَابَلُ الْمَشْكُورُ الْبَالِغُ الْمَرَامَةُ الْيَرْجِيَّةُ الْمَتْقَبَّلَةُ
Meaning: "There is an opinion that says: Accepted hajj is a hajj that is accepted (maqbul) and is rewarded with goodness in the form of rewards. The sign of someone's hajj being accepted is that they become better than before and do not repeat acts of disobedience."
If one's hajj is accepted by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala, also known as accepted hajj, then a hajj pilgrim will appear different from before. They will have several signs indicating that their hajj has been accepted. Some signs of an accepted hajj include:
An accepted hajj is performed with a heart that is full of awareness and devotion in performing every act of hajj. Pilgrims perform their hajj with love, humility, and devotion to Allah.
Pilgrims perform all the pillars and procedures of hajj with complete obedience and perfection, without neglecting or disregarding any part of the hajj rituals.
An accepted hajj is also characterized by positive changes in behavior and attitude towards life for the hajj pilgrim. After returning from the pilgrimage, they tend to increase their faith, piety, obedience, and devotion to Allah and strive to practice the teachings of Islam better.
A successful pilgrimage also brings great forgiveness and rewards from Allah. Pilgrims who perform the pilgrimage sincerely and wholeheartedly will receive forgiveness for past sins and receive multiplied rewards.
However, only Allah knows for certain whether a pilgrimage has been accepted as a successful pilgrimage. This depends on the sincerity, earnestness, and obedience of the pilgrims in performing the pilgrimage. Therefore, it is important for every pilgrim to pray and strive to perform the pilgrimage to the best of their ability, hoping that their pilgrimage will be accepted by Allah as a successful pilgrimage.
There are prayers that can be recited to ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to accept one's hajj. Here is the prayer for accepted hajj that you can practice to ask for the acceptance of your hajj:
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ حَجَّاً مَبْرُورًا وَسَعْيًا مَشْكُورًا وَذَنْبًا مَغْفُورًا
Allahummaj'al hajjan mabruran wa sa'yan masykuran wa dzanban maghfuran.
Meaning: "May Allah grant a hajj that is accepted, an effort that is appreciated, and sins that are forgiven."
That is the complete prayer for accepted hajj along with its definitions, signs, and rewards for those whose hajj is accepted by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. May Allah accept your hajj if you are currently performing the pilgrimage. Amin.
