One of the designers who has the opportunity to showcase his work at NYFW 2023 is Hengki Kawilarang. He has prepared a collection titled Sriwijaya, which heavily features Indonesian traditional clothing designs.

In line with the theme, the collection is inspired by the Sriwijaya Kingdom, which flourished in 683 AD. The kingdom left behind cultural heritage in the form of woven songket fabrics and Palembang silk jumputan, which are featured in the Autumn/Winter 2023 collection.

The collection is also enhanced with feather details, sequins, and embroidery.
