Dream - Indonesian pride singer, Isyana Sarasvati, shared some unpleasant news on her Instagram account @isyanasaravati.She revealed that she has been in and out of the hospital due to an autoimmune disease.The singer of the hit song "Lexicon" posted a photo of herself in the hospital with an IV drip.

"Many people may wonder why I've been going back and forth to the hospital lately. The thing is, at the end of last year, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, one of which is SLE. And now my Ig is flaring up. That's it. Hehe." Isyana wrote on her personal Instagram.

Isyana also revealed that she was diagnosed with lupus at the end of last year. When her illness flares up, she has to undergo treatment at the hospital.Lupus disease itself still has no cure, but it can be controlled when it flares up.

So what is lupus? According to Yankes.kemkes.go.id, Lupus or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a rheumatic autoimmune disease that is systemic in nature. This disease is caused by a disruption in the body's defense system due to an abnormal immune system.

The effect is that the immune system attacks its own cells and causes organ damage. The Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) disease that Isyana experiences can affect many organs with a wide range of clinical appearances.

Lupus is also known as the disease with a thousand faces, because each patient has different clinical manifestations or symptoms. Often resembling other diseases that make the diagnosis less accurate.

Autoimmune diseases are characterized by the excessive production of antibodies against one's own body tissues (autoantibodies), causing inflammation and tissue damage. The number of Lupus patients has dramatically increased since 1970. This is due to the availability of better diagnostic tools, namely the ACR 1997 criteria for Lupus diagnosis and more comprehensive laboratory tests.

This Lupus disease can affect people of all ages, from newborns (Neonatal Lupus) to an 89-year-old woman. The age and gender distribution of Lupus incidence are as follows:

- 80% affects people aged 15-45

- 80-92% are SLE: mainly affecting women

- 70-80% are Discoid Lupus: mainly affecting women

- 50-50% are Drug-induced Lupus. This is a type of Lupus disease triggered by certain drugs.
