Minimalist Japanese Touch in Onitsuka Tiger's Latest Collection

Dream - Japanese fashion brand, Onitsuka Tiger, has released its latest collection for the Spring/Summer 2023 season, with the theme 'Japanese Minimalism' which combines fashion, sports, and a heritage full of innovation.

The latest collection under the creative direction of Andrea Pompilio aims to showcase the peak of beauty in fashion, without showing anything excessive.

This theme is implemented throughout the visual campaign for Onitsuka Tiger's latest collection, relying on minimalist elements such as shadows, spaces, sky and building colors, and geometric backgrounds.

One unique element that represents the minimalist concept in this Onitsuka Tiger collection is the artistic giant ball.

In this campaign, Andrea describes her strategy to maintain a minimalist visual appearance in any condition or angle.

Japanese Essence and Functionality

In addition to being made in Japan, all the clothes in this collection also have a heritage value inspired by the original culture of the country. One example is the long drawstring detail on the oversized georgette t-shirt that can transform the garment into embossed tops, or the nylon skirt with pleats design that resembles the Kyudo archer's Hakama.

Andrea Pompilio also drew inspiration from Kimono designs, which can be seen in this collection. As for colors, Andrea Pompilio chose a classic black and white palette, combined with eccentric colors such as yellow and green inspired by basil leaves in Japan.

In this collection, functionality is also important to Andrea Pompilio. Almost all of the garments can be worn in various ways, according to the wearer's preference. For example, a dress that can be separated, a jacket that can be worn together with a cape from a trench coat, and a mini dress with backpack pockets sewn on the back.

Cool Accessories and Shoes Collection

You shouldn't miss Onitsuka Tiger's latest accessories and shoe collection. The iconic SERRANO™ shoes have been updated as TIRRACK™ models with bold patterns that resemble tiger claws. There is also a collection of leather flip-flops inspired by Setta sandals from Japan, as well as the SCLAW™ and SCLAW™ MT shoe models with details that resemble driving gloves.

Meanwhile, baseball caps are combined with sun protection designs commonly worn by Japanese people, which can be worn from the front or back. The collection of bags is also decorated with embroidery and the Claw Stripes logo, inspired by bowling bags. Available in three sizes, including micro size.

This Onitsuka Tiger Spring/Summer 2023 collection was presented at Milan Fashion Week in September 2022, featuring headphones designed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen. This headphone collection, a collaboration between Onitsuka Tiger and Bang & Olufsen, is only available in several countries.
