"Dream - The largest annual modest fashion event in Indonesia, the Muslim Fashion Festival (MUFFEST)+ will be held for the ninth time on August 8-11, 2024, at Istora Senayan Jakarta."
This year, the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) is organizing MUFFEST+ in synergy with Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia, carrying the theme “Flying to the Global Market.” MUFFEST+ itself is a trade exhibition and fashion show that highlights the cultural diversity and creativity of modest fashion products and halal lifestyle in Indonesia. In line with this year's theme, MUFFEST+ is ready to become one of the foundations to proclaim Indonesian modest fashion as a trendsetter in local, national, and international markets, and Indonesia as the center of modest fashion in the world.
"In this ninth year, MUFFEST+ is expected to further strengthen its role in marketing Indonesian modest fashion to the global market. MUFFEST+ has accompanied modest fashion brands in the country that have grown remarkably to the international level,"
"Lenny Agustin, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber (IFC) said in his statement on Wednesday, August 7, 2024."
“Along with age, MUFFEST+ is required to create hype so that the modest fashion industry can expand even further, reaching into younger segments,” he stated.
"MUFFEST+ continues to promote the sustainable concept that has been implemented since 2020. Not only in finished products but also in the upstream to downstream processes that support the creation of international standard modest fashion products. Thus, the best works of Indonesian modest brands and designers not only possess aesthetic beauty, innovation, and high marketability, but also have a responsibility towards the planet and the global community in a sustainable manner."
“MUFFEST+ this year is presented with a new touch that is fresher and younger, starting from the venue at Istora Senayan Jakarta which has become a gathering place for Gen-Z and millennials. Then the fashion show is synergized with performances by young musicians such as HIVI! and Voice of Baceprot,” said Irvan Mahidin, CEO of PT. Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia on the same occasion.
"According to the theme being carried, which is Flying to the Global Market, Irvan continued, MUFFEST+ provides a different experience for visitors through the arrangement of ambience as if they were at an airport."
"MUFFEST+ 2024 will present a variety of modest fashion styles ranging from street wear, evening wear, urban, contemporary, to sharia from 175 brands in fashion shows and trade exhibitions. The MUFFEST+ event will also be enlivened by activities such as Fashion Trend Forecasting seminars, talk shows, workshops, and business matching. The trade exhibition or exhibition of MUFFEST+ this year will showcase collections of modest fashion, hijabs, footwear, bags, textiles, jewelry, accessories, cosmetics, and beauty products."
The Kick-off event for MUFFEST+ 2024 was held at the end of July at Bali Coffee Club Jakarta, featuring speakers divided into three chit-chat sessions.
The first session presents the MUFFEST+ 2024 program with speakers Lenny Agustin, National Chair of the Indonesian Fashion Chamber; Lisa Fitria, Marketing Director of MUFFEST+ 2024; Irvan Mahidin, CEO of PT. Gemalindo Kreasi Indonesia; and Dian Desiana, Managing Director of Bali Coffee Club. The second session is a chit-chat discussing the Business Potential of Modest Fashion with speakers Ita Rulina, Head of the Economic Empowerment and Sharia Finance Group – Department of Sharia Economy and Finance (DEKS) Bank Indonesia; Hikmah Rizka, VP Islamic Ecosystem of Bank Syariah Indonesia; designer Khanaan Shamlan and Rosie Rahmadi.
The third chit-chat session presents Sustainable Fashion & Modest Fashion Trends with speakers Ali Charisma, Advisory Indonesian Fashion Chamber; Reviana Surya, Head of Corporate Communication PT. Asia Pacific Rayon; Wahidah Oktavia, Senior Public Relations Wardah Beauty; and designer Hannie Hananto.
Kick-off MUFFEST+ 2024 also features a Trunk Show from representatives of designers and brands that will participate in MUFFEST+ 2024, namely Lisa Fitria, KAYO by Fey Kayo, BT Batik Trusmi, Level Up, Inara Rusli, SHI by Shireen Sungkar, Monika Jufry, Nada Puspita, Pelangi Asmara, Kursien Karzai, Althafunissa, Hannie Hananto, Sofie, Kami., Zaskia Sungkar, Rosie Rahmadi, Irmasari Joedawinata, Khanaan, Ayu Dyah Andari, Rya Baraba, and Ivan Gunawan Prive.
“The potential of the international market for modest fashion is very large, but many players in the modest fashion industry in Indonesia are not yet ready to expand to a global scale. Therefore, Bank Indonesia is stepping in to help drive the fashion sector, and it is already evident that the Indonesian fashion sector has its own characteristics, supported by local designers.”
said Ita Rulina, Head of the Economic and Sharia Financial Empowerment Group – DEKS Bank Indonesia.
"Seeing this, Bank Indonesia expressed its gratitude and appreciation for the joint efforts that have been made together. MUFFEST+ this year is held in synergistic collaboration with various parties including Wardah as the Official Makeup and Skincare, BSI (Bank Syariah Indonesia) as the Official Bank, Asia Pacific Rayon (APR) and Gistex as Sponsors, and supported by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Bali Coffee Club, Habitare Apart Hotel Rusuna Jakarta, and YOU C1000. Then, Bank Indonesia collaborates with the Indonesia International Modest Fashion Festival (IN2MF) as the Event Partner and Hijabersmom as the Community Partner."
“After 9 years, Wardah has supported the consistency and commitment of MUFFEST+ in creating sustainability. Wardah has entered the international realm so that it not only becomes a market leader in Indonesia,” said Wahidah Oktavia, Senior Public Relations of Wardah Beauty. This year, Via, as she is commonly called, continued that Wardah, as the Official Makeup and Skincare, needs to educate that healthy and well-maintained skin is an important investment before using makeup to ensure it is long-lasting and looks flawless. “Not only is there a makeup trend, but a skincare trend is also needed, as skincare is part of sustainability,” added Via.
