Collective Leave for Idul Adha for Private Employees

However, the implementation of collective leave is different between private employees and civil servants (PNS). According to the Minister of Manpower, Ida Fauziah, collective leave for Idul Adha 2023 for private employees will deduct their annual leave.

"Collective leave is part of the annual leave," said Ida Fauziah, as quoted from Liputan6.com, on Friday, June 23, 2023.

For private employees, the collective leave for Idul Adha on June 28 and 30, 2023 is optional or based on agreement between the employee and the company.

"Furthermore, the implementation of collective leave is optional, in accordance with the agreement between employers and employees or labor unions," she added.

Collective Leave for Idul Adha for Civil Servants

Unlike private employees, collective leave for civil servants does not deduct their annual leave. In Presidential Decree (KEPPRES) No. 24 of 2022 regarding collective leave for Civil Servants in 2023, it is stated that collective leave for civil servants does not reduce their entitlement to annual leave.

"The collective leave as referred to in the first paragraph does not reduce the entitlement to annual leave for Civil Servants," quoted from the regulation.

In addition, civil servants who are not given collective leave due to their position will have their annual leave increased according to the number of collective leave days not given.

Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (MenPANRB), Abdullah Azwar Anas, explained that the change in Idul Adha holiday to 3 days is for the benefit of the community in celebrating Eid al-Adha.

"This year's Idul Adha coincides with the school holiday season. So, as stated by the President, it is expected to further improve the local economy evenly across all regions," said Anas.

Anas said that every long holiday has proven to stimulate the economy, especially in small regions.

"As stated by the President, this collective leave policy will also contribute to the growth of economic activities in various regions, strengthen national economic recovery because the circulation of money in society will also increase," he added.

According to him, the Idul Adha holiday that is close to the school holiday season is also expected to improve the quality of family management in Indonesia, with quality time for all family members.
