Flood of Flowers at Semarang Merdeka Flowers Festival 2023, Check the Route

Dream - The Semarang City Government (Pemkot) will once again hold an interesting event full of flowers, namely the Semarang Merdeka Flowers Festival 2023. This grand event will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2023, starting at 15.00.

Held for the second time, this event, which is included in the Semarang City Event Calendar, will be enlivened by a carnival flower car parade and collaborated with a procession of development to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Indonesia's independence.

"Carrying the theme 'Kita Indonesia,' the Semarang Merdeka Flower Festival 2023 will pass through the route starting from Balaikota - Jalan Pemuda - Lawang Sewu - Jalan Pandanaran and finish at Pancasila Simpang Lima Field," said the Head of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Semarang City, Wing Wiyarso, on Saturday, August 26, 2023.

This event is open to all layers of society, government agencies, state-owned and regional-owned enterprises, private companies, and banking institutions.

Previously, all participants had attended several workshops at the Oudetrap Building led by ASPEDI (Association of Indonesian Decoration Services Entrepreneurs) Central Java, so that the decorated cars can become more beautiful and captivating according to ASPEDI standards.

"This event is open to the public so that the Semarang Merdeka Flower Festival can become a tourist attraction and is expected to increase tourist visits to Semarang City," said Wing Wiyarso.

The participants of the Semarang Merdeka Flower Festival 2023 will be led by a police cavalry, followed by the Marching Band of SMP N 1 Semarang, then a parade of flower-decorated cars, followed by the Semarang Night Carnival procession, followed by the Parade of the Guitar Community of Indonesia, the Arts and Culture Community, and the Parade of Military Equipment from Kodam IV Diponegoro and the Indonesian Navy.

Wing hopes that with events like this, it can provide entertainment for the people of Semarang City and its surroundings and have an impact on the growth of the economy in Semarang City.
