Masya Allah! Jewish Priest Utters Shahada After Choking Prophet Muhammad in Front of Companions, This is the Reason

Dream - Ustadz Khalid Basalamah tells the story of when the neck of Prophet Muhammad SAW was choked by a Jewish priest in front of his followers. This was conveyed through a video uploaded on the Tiktok account @pmudahjrah.

Apparently, the priest's action was done to test the emotions and patience of Prophet Muhammad. At the end of the story, the Jewish priest decided to convert to Islam and utter the two sentences of the Shahada.

Initially, one day Prophet Muhammad was leading a knowledge gathering in the Prophet's Mosque. Many of the Prophet's companions were present to listen to his lecture.

Suddenly, a man entered the Mosque, broke through the crowd, and stood behind Prophet Muhammad. Instantly, this man pulled the turban worn by Prophet Muhammad and wrapped it around his neck, causing the Prophet to choke.

Seeing this incident, the companions became angry. Even Umar bin Khattab asked permission from the Prophet to behead the Jewish Priest.

"O Prophet Muhammad, allow me to behead this man!" Umar said, imitating Ustadz Khalid Basalamah.

However, the Prophet instead made a hand gesture to calm all the companions down. Meanwhile, at that time, Prophet Muhammad was still choking.

Slowly, the Prophet then asked the man about his intention to choke him. Although the Prophet knew who the man was, he did not mention the man's name in front of his companions.

"O Jew, what's the matter?" said Prophet Muhammad.

"You owe me, Muhammad! And I know that you Quraysh people like to procrastinate in repaying debts," the man replied.

"Hasn't the time come yet (for the debt to be paid)?" the Prophet asked again.

"I don't care. Pay your debt now!" the man shouted.

Then Prophet Muhammad turned to Umar and said, "O Umar, take 20 sha' of dates from Baitul Maal to pay my debt to this Jew, and another 20 sha' of dates,"

"O Prophet Muhammad, 20 sha' is for your debt. But what is the other 20 sha' for?" Umar asked.

"That is as a punishment because you frightened him," Prophet Muhammad replied.

Then, Umar took the man to Baitul Maal to retrieve the dates as instructed by Prophet Muhammad. When they arrived there, Umar immediately put the dates into a sack.

However, when he was about to put the second sack, the Jewish man suddenly forbade Umar from doing so.

"O Umar, stop. Do not put the dates in that sack," the Jewish man said.

Umar replied, "I am only carrying out the orders of Prophet Muhammad. I do not want to hear you."

The Jewish priest then revealed his identity in front of Umar and said that he was Zaid bin San'ah. He was known as a famous priest and Torah expert at that time.

Hearing this confession, Umar was very surprised. He then asked Zaid for the reason why he dared to choke Prophet Muhammad in front of his companions.

"O Umar, do you think I am crazy? I entered your mosque, choked your prophet in front of you, used harsh words towards him, demanded payment before the due date, choked him. Do you think I am crazy? I have risked everything," Zaid said, imitating Ustadz Khalid Basalamah.

"Why did you do it?" Umar asked.

"Truly, before I came to your mosque, I found signs of prophethood in Muhammad as mentioned in the Torah as the last prophet. Almost all of those signs are present in him. However, there is still one sign that is not clear to me. That is, his love and forgiveness surpass his anger," explained Zaid.

"Hey Umar, earlier I risked my life to seek the truth. And I have proven that indeed his love surpasses his anger. So, bear witness, O Umar, asyhadu an laa ilaaha illa Allah, wa asyhadu anna Muhammad rasulullah," Zaid bin San'ah firmly stated.
