The Pain of Canceling the Wedding, Rp382 Million Money from 10 Years of Work Spent on Buying a BMW

Like the story of a man who hopes to end his single life by marrying his beloved girl. His experience will never be forgotten because the gift he gave to his future wife, which amounted to hundreds of millions, disappeared.

The 26-year-old man named Xiaowei has a fairly stable life and wants to find a wife to build a family.

Then Xiaowei was introduced by a matchmaker to a woman named Zhang Ying.

The first meeting turned out to leave a sweet moment for Xiaowei. Although it was only a short time, they decided to get engaged in March 2021.

On the engagement day, Xiaowei gave many gifts and presents totaling Rp382 million.

But who would have thought that shortly after the engagement, Zhang Ying suddenly blocked Xiaowei's WeChat account.

When Xiaowei asked to meet, Zhang Ying announced that they had broken up and did not want to get married.

Knowing this, Xiaowei was certainly angry and did not understand why Zhang Ying suddenly canceled the wedding unilaterally.

Initially, Xiaowei tried to salvage the engagement but failed. Because he had to end their relationship, Xiaowei felt entitled to get his money back.

Xiaowei then went to meet Zhang Ying to ask for his money back. However, Zhang Ying said that the money had been used to buy a BMW for her sister.

Feeling upset, Xiaowei then filed a lawsuit in court to demand that Zhang Ying and her mother, Wu, return the money.

The court ruled that Zhang Ying must pay compensation to Xiaowei amounting to Rp256 million within 10 days from the date of the decision.

Although he won in court, Zhang Ying still refused to pay Xiaowei.

This action prompted Xiaowei to take desperate measures by attaching several red banners to his ex-fiancé's BMW car. The banners read 'Return my engagement gift. It is the result of my hard work'.

According to Xiaowei, he has been working since the age of 16, spending 10 years as a worker in a construction company. As a result of the unexpected failure of his marriage, he admitted that his job was also affected.

"I just want to get my money back as soon as possible, this is my sweat and tears. This is my first engagement, but I didn't expect it to turn out like this," said Xiaowei, while advising everyone to be careful when deciding to get married to avoid experiencing the unfortunate events he went through.
