Thought Hotel, This Building Successfully Deceived All Road Users

Dream - Statues are identical to imitation objects shaped like humans or animals. This three-dimensional object is specially made as a work of art.

However, if you visit Melbourne, Australia, there is a hotel-shaped statue that can deceive people on the highway. 

The statue looks like a high-rise hotel, with a height of 20 meters, a width of 12 meters, and a thickness of 5 meters. There is even a large HOTEL sign on the front.

This statue was designed by local artist Callum Morton and inaugurated in 2007.

At night, this statue appears as a real hotel. Some windows are lit up, some rooms appear to be occupied. However, there are actually no rooms, and the building itself cannot be entered.

"Drivers will see it from their cars as a real hotel and may, from time to time, see it as an out-of-scale model that escaped from an amusement park or film set," said Callum Morton, explaining the concept of this project in the early 2000s. 

The building is also located in the middle of a barren field, but it is right on the edge of the highway.

Now, nearly two decades later, this work still plays with the minds of people who are amazed as they pass it on the EastLink toll road in the Dandenong area of Melbourne.

"I think it's interesting how to place something in a space that is slightly deceptive or slightly strange, how it might change people's thinking about art or practice," said Callum Morton about his unique artwork.
