Dream - Indonesia has a rich regional art and cultural heritage. As an archipelagic country with 30 ethnic groups, every corner of the nation has its own unique cultural characteristics.

Want to witness all of these cultures in one performance? A cultural show with a colossal theatrical concept is being held, titled "Pagelaran Sabang Merauke".

By involving more than 300 artists, this performance will bring the grandeur of Indonesia's cultural richness on stage. The Sabang Merauke performance, first showcased in 2022, is planned to be held in Jakarta International Expo Kemayoran on August 17-18 this year as the 5th show, starring Isyana Sarasvati to Yura Yunita.

There is something different between this year's Pagelaran Sabang Merauke and the previous years. This year, Pagelaran Sabang Merauke held an audition called "The Audition" with the aim of providing opportunities for talented dancers from all regions of Indonesia to be part of the grand performance. The audition took place from February 19 to March 31 and successfully received 124 applicants, who were then selected as 50 finalists.

Didik Nini Thowok, Isyana Sarasvati, and Giok Hartono will actively participate as judges to help select those talented dancers. Didik said that in dancing, the most important aspects are movement, rhythm, and feeling, because each dance has its own unique soul.

"This is the right way to provide education to the wider community and introduce Indonesian culture, especially dance. Many people consider dancing as an unimpressive profession. However, artists can become ambassadors of the nation and bring honor to Indonesia," said Didik. Being one of the main talents in this performance, Isyana also said that the key to achieving a harmonious performance is to stay focused during combined rehearsals with other talents, so that we can blend and harmonize our energies into one performance."
