New Home Installments Can Be Paid Off at Age 45, Meisya Siregar Gives a Powerful Message to Gen-Z

Dream- Meisya Siregar shares a story about her experience in buying a house through the Home Ownership Credit (KPR) system. Despite being a celebrity, Meisya is not ashamed to have just finished paying off her KPR at the age of 45.

The story of Bebi Romeo's wife was shared on her Instagram feed, complete with a photo of them together showing their house certificate towards the camera. Usually, the house certificate is only given by the bank when the homeowner has finished paying off their mortgage installments.

"Smile. Be grateful for your life. Tell the world. That we can.\u00a0 (settle) There are still many who are even more difficult (to repay)."

From this experience, Meisya advised Gen Z not to worry when owning a house before their 30s. Meisya and Bebi believe that their lives are not considered a failure even though they can only pay off their house installments at a not-so-young age.

"Dear Gen Z children, there is no need to have excessive ambition to own a house before the age of 30, to the point of forcing yourself. Relax. Just so you know, Aunt and Uncle only paid off their house at the age of 45. It doesn't mean that we are not successful or failed, though."

Meisya said the decision not to immediately repay the KPT installments because of the desire to allocate most of her income to invest in business. However, that decision does not make their financial condition completely secure. According to Meisya, not all of their endeavors have been profitable. Some have even experienced losses during the previous pandemic period.

Mother of three children also said that part of the funds they generated were prepared to meet needs such as emergency funds, savings, and investments. Not only that, Meisya and Bebi also decided to use the funds to perform Haji Furoda.

"Basically, it is for buying comfort in our lives. Of course, we have already set aside money for protection, emergency funds, savings, and a little investment. But as we get older and acquire knowledge, we end up daring to use the money for Haji Furoda which is the best decision in our lives, Alhamdulillah."

Meisya also mentioned Helmi Yahya's statement that young people nowadays are reluctant to buy houses with installment systems. For her, everyone's perspective is different because some prefer to invest their funds in other things.

At the end of her post, Meisya reiterates the importance of life priorities. She also advises everyone to live realistically and not envy others' achievements. According to her, people should always strive as long as they are alive. She also quotes Ustadz Abdul Somad's words about happiness according to Islam. "So, it's all about priorities. What we should be concerned about at this age is when we already know the purpose of life, then we should be afraid if we pass away but still trapped in usury debt. So, make realistic life choices. Don't be burned by looking at others' achievements. Tired. Because everyone has a different chosen path in life," said Meisya.
