Dream - Dangdut singer Saipul Jamil has been released by the police after being proven not guilty of using narcotics. Saipul will be returned to his family, after being detained on a street in West Jakarta on Friday, January 5, 2024. The police only arrested his assistant, S alias Steven, and R as drug dealers.

"Syahduddi also explained that from this case, the officers successfully arrested the drug dealer R alias Dede after conducting a transaction with Saipul Jamil's assistant, in Kedaung Kali Angke, Cengkareng, West Jakarta, at around 15.00 WIB. "The observation results indicate that there is one person who has been suspected named R and it is known that R conducted a transaction by selling methamphetamine to S or Steven," said Syahduddi."

Syahduddi continued, Saipul Jamil was unaware of the drug transaction carried out by his assistant. Saipul Jamil was only waiting in the mosque courtyard because his assistant claimed to want to give furniture to his parents.

Around one hour later, S returned to the car to take Saipul Jamil to a location in West Jakarta. While on the way, suddenly their car was stopped by members of the Tambora Police Station who were dressed like thugs around Daan Mogot Street, West Jakarta. However, Saipul Jamil did not believe that the ones who stopped their car were officers.

"So, the chase action occurred, where Saipul Jamil's car driven by S collided with two motorcyclists. 'Because there are indications of non-compliance, officers conducted a pursuit followed by the community who knew about the incident, including the motorcyclists who were hit,' said Syahduddi."

"Arriving around Tubagus Angke street, it turns out that S secretly disposed of the evidence of the type of drugs called sabu around the park, without Saipul Jamil's knowledge. This effort was made to try to eliminate the evidence. "But the pursuing officer focused on entering Daan Mogot, there is a railroad crossing the perpetrator will not take any other action and surrender themselves. But the perpetrator suddenly turned left onto the sidewalk, entered the housing complex, and stopped on a dead-end street," he continued."

"However, the perpetrator reversed the vehicle and hit the officers and residents who were behind, then continued to be chased. Due to heavy traffic conditions, the perpetrator entered the busway lane precisely at the busway shelter in Grogol and finally stopped there," he added.

The viral incident showing Saipul Jamil being arrested was actually the police's effort to immediately bring Saipul Jamil along with S to the Tambora Police Station. This is because there were many people at the location who were angry about Saipul Jamil's reckless driving actions. "Due to the crowded situation, the investigators tried to secure the person in the car from the public's attempt to take matters into their own hands because many were chasing after them," he explained.
