"Imposing a prison sentence on the defendant Muhammad Ammar Akbar alias Ammar Zoni for 12 years, reduced by time served, and a fine of Rp2 billion or 6 months imprisonment," said the Public Prosecutor, Azam Akhmad Akhsya, when reading his indictment at the West Jakarta District Court on Tuesday, July 16, 2024.

Jon Mathias also questioned the assessment that had been approved by the Judges but not carried out by the Prosecutor's Office. He believes that the demands submitted would be different if the Prosecutor's Office carried out the assessment.

"However, if an assessment is conducted, the results can prove whether Ammar is involved in a drug network or not, whether he is a seller or a buyer, whether he is an addict. That's what we question why an assessment is not conducted," he said. To face the demands from the prosecutor, Jon Mathias will prepare a defense note that is expected to lighten Ammar Zoni's sentence."
