Lyodra's singing talent has been evident since she was two years old. At the age of four, she was already actively participating in singing competitions in Medan City, North Sumatra. Her father even said that Lyodra has better vibrato technique than her peers.

In 2017, when she was 16 years old, the owner of the full name Lyodra Margaretta Ginting went to Italy with Gita Gutawa to participate in a singing content. Unexpectedly, Lyodra managed to win the first place title in the international competition.

Before competing in Indonesian Idol, this 20-year-old girl also participated in the talent search competition Indonesia Mencari Bakat 4, but unfortunately she was eliminated before reaching the top six round.

In 2019, Lyodra participated in the Indonesian Idol competition. Her performance successfully amazed the jury when she showcased her whistle register technique during the audition. Her audition video even trended on YouTube Indonesia. On March 2, 2020, she was crowned as the winner after going through a series of auditions and a five-month quarantine period.

The presence of Lyodra has brought a new atmosphere to the music industry in Indonesia with her best collection of songs that are still being played until now. The great support from her fans has also made several Lyodra songs very popular, such as "Sang Dewi," "Ego," "Kalau Bosan," "Pesan Terakhir," and many others.

In 2021, the woman known as Lyly received the Best New Asian Artist Indonesia award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in South Korea. She was also nominated at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 in Budapest. Lyodra Ginting also successfully performed at the Asia Artist Awards (AAA) 2022 in Nagoya, Japan, in December 2022.
