Dream - Putra Deddy Corbuzier, Azka Corbuzier, until now still embraces the Catholic religion as his belief. Azka's choice is different from his father, who has converted and married Sabrina Chairunnisa.
Deddy Corbuzier affirms that he did not invite his child to embrace Islam. He wants the desire to convert to Islam to come from his child's own will.
"I understand the teachings of the religion that I recently embraced and I also explain it to my child, slowly though. Because in the past, Azka, like most people, maybe, didn't understand when hearing the word Muslim."
Deddy Corbuzier revealed on his YouTube channel.
Although not trying to force, Deddy still tries to introduce Islam to Azka Corbuzier. He hopes that Azka can see Islam peacefully and beautifully.
"I explain the questions that I have learned, why dogs are considered haram, impure, why eating pork is not allowed, things that were previously not allowed, we explain them, there is logic behind it, there is a reason. So, it slowly enters their mind and they understand that Islam is not as scary as they thought,"
"imbuhnya" translates to "additionally."
Even if Azka still doesn't want to embrace Islam, Deddy will not have any problem with his son's choice. He will still consider Azka as his son. "I can't force him to change his religion now, but I can teach him what I believe is best for him. Even if he doesn't want to convert someday, he will still be my child," Deddy firmly stated.
The statement of Deddy Corbuzier is supported by Habib Jafar, who explains that Islam prohibits coercion in embracing a religion. This prohibition also applies even if it comes from one's own family.
"I like these two things, first that there is no coercion in religion, including from a father to his child, in the time of the prophet it also happened, it's not allowed to be forced. And the father's creativity in preaching should be encouraged. Because the main duty of a father is his family, but with sincerity, not coercion. And even if he doesn't participate, a father still has to be dutiful to his child, meaning to do good to his child."
