Before Jessica Kumala Wongso was handed over to the Central Jakarta Public Prosecutor's Office, she was required to undergo a health test. In the test, Jessica was declared healthy.

"Jessica also had to serve a 20-year prison sentence for the murder case of Wayan Mirna Salihin. Since then, Jessica's name has rarely been heard of."

After being imprisoned, he filed an appeal in 2019. Unfortunately, until the cassation stage, all those efforts were rejected and instead strengthened the decision at the first level court.

Former lawyer Jessica, Otto Hasibuan, admitted to being saddened by the news of the appeal rejection. Otto admitted that since being convicted, Jessica no longer avails his services as her lawyer.

Although at that time no longer handling Jessica, Otto stated that his client was not proven to have killed. Because there is no CCTV recording showing Jessica pouring cyanide into the drink that caused Mirna's death.

Now, Jessica is still detained and serving her sentence in the 7th year. She still has to spend another 13 years behind bars. She currently spends her daily life at Pondok Bambu Detention Center, East Jakarta.

"He often stays silent in his cell. Nevertheless, Jessica is known as a person who diligently prays at the temple. In fact, she invited her mother and uncle to pray together at the prison temple a day before her trial verdict."
