Dream - Presidential Candidate Debate (Capres) 2024 held by the General Election Commission (KPU) on Sunday, January 7, 2024 has heated up since the beginning of the opening. Capres Anies Baswedan and Prabowo Subianto engaged in a fierce debate in the debate held at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. The intense debate between the two Capres made Capres number 3, Ganjar Pranowo, joke that this time his position was trying to mediate the two political opponents.
"Position of Podium Anies"
In the 3rd Presidential debate, it is known that Ganjar's podium is in the middle between the other two candidates. To the right of Ganjar stands Presidential Candidate Prabowo Subianto, while Anies is positioned to his left.
Standing in the middle between presidential candidates Anies and Prabowo, Ganjar jokingly remarked that he positioned himself to cool down the atmosphere during the debate.
"Hopefully I will be prioritized in the middle, it's quite refreshing between my two friends on the left and right," Ganjar joked on Sunday, January 7, 2023."
In that debate, Anies repeatedly grilled Prabowo about various topics and his performance as the Minister of Defense. The former Governor of Jakarta posed questions ranging from Main Defense Systems (Alutsista), defense, to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) lacking a place to live.
The third debate of the presidential and vice presidential candidates raises the theme of defense, security, international relations, globalization, geopolitics, and foreign policy. After previously presenting three vice presidential candidates, the KPU (General Election Commission) again held a debate with contestants from each presidential candidate. According to KPU regulations, the vice presidential candidates from each candidate pair (Paslon) also attended and sat alongside their presidential candidates.
