Dream - Stinginess or miserliness is one of the characteristics that Allah SWT hates. In Islam itself, it has been taught to be a generous person. Even in a hadith it is explained: "Is there a disease more dangerous than the trait of being stingy?" (HR. Thabrani) Through the above hadith, it is known that the trait of being stingy or miserly is very dangerous for humans. Both in this world and in the hereafter.

Allah SWT said in Surah Al-Imran, verse 180: "And let not those who [greedily] withhold what Allah has given them of His bounty ever think that it is better for them. Rather, it is worse for them. Their necks will be encircled by what they withheld on the Day of Resurrection." From the hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim, it is mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The stingy person is indeed vile, and the stingy person is indeed evil."

Based on the verses and hadiths mentioned, it is clear that there is a strict prohibition against stinginess in Islam. Those who are stingy will face consequences in the afterlife, being taken to their own misery as punishment for their stingy behavior during their lifetime. Thus, in the Islamic perspective, being stingy is considered to have a very negative consequence, and as Muslims, we are encouraged to always do good and not be stingy in sharing our blessings with others.

Stingy or miserly is an attitude that diminishes feelings of love and concern for others. In Islamic teachings, Prophet Muhammad emphasizes the importance of giving charity and sharing blessings with others as a form of worship. The traits of being stingy and miserly indicate inaccuracies and disloyalty towards Islamic teachings, which makes them disliked by Allah. The negative impact of being stingy or miserly is the occurrence of injustice in the distribution of blessings.

Then it causes hostility and disharmony in relationships between people. The way to avoid such traits according to Islamic teachings is by understanding and internalizing religious teachings, as well as increasing care for others. The Prophet also encouraged his followers to be more charitable and share their blessings with others, as a way to avoid being stingy or greedy. By following the teachings of the Prophet, Muslims are expected to stay away from being stingy or greedy and attain blessings in life.

The punishment for someone who is stingy is facing torment in both the world and the hereafter. In Islamic teachings, stinginess is considered a major sin that will bring threats in the afterlife, such as entering hellfire and experiencing painful torment. In the afterlife, a stingy person will face threats in the form of poverty and deprivation of Allah's blessings. The sin of stinginess in the hereafter is not receiving the love and forgiveness of Allah, as well as being separated from the goodness of paradise.

To avoid stinginess in daily life, the solution is to implement the Islamic teachings of charity and sharing with others. Islam teaches to give a portion of one's wealth to those in need and not be greedy in sharing goodness. By practicing the Islamic teachings of love and generosity, the trait of stinginess can be avoided in daily life.

"Allah narrates the punishment received by Qarun due to his stinginess, which is that the earth swallowed up his wealth completely. The word of Allah in Surah Al-Qasas, verses 76-77, depicts the destruction of Qarun as a result of his stingy nature. Prophet Muhammad also commanded mankind to stay away from the trait of stinginess. He said in a hadith: 'Indeed, the best spending is that which is shown the most. And indeed, the best giving is that which is felt the least.'"
