Ridwan Kamil and his wife, Atalia Praratya, were seen bidding farewell to the governor's official residence or the Pakuan State Building in Bandung on Sunday, September 3, 2023. The video shows the atmosphere of the vacant official residence. Kang Emil is seen exploring every room of the official residence accompanied by his wife. He appears to be tidying up personal belongings in the official residence, including the belongings of his late son, Emmeril Kahn Mumtadz or Eril.
"Farewell to the People of West Java"
Kang Emil also delivered a farewell speech to the people of West Java at the West Java Festival 2023 event. In that farewell speech, he remembered his greatest trial when leading Jabar, which was the loss of his eldest son in mid-2022.

In that moment, Kang Emil even shed tears on the podium, which moved and encouraged the residents who were present at Siliwangi Stadium.
"In five years, I (pausing for a moment), I lost my son, it was the biggest test I have ever faced. But thanks to the prayers of West Java, with strong determination even though Covid-19 struck, even though Eril is not here, this province is the best province in Indonesia."
The words of Kang Emil were greeted with applause from thousands of residents.

Kang Emil then bid farewell to the people of West Java, as in a matter of days, he would become an ordinary citizen in the midst of society. "I used to be a citizen who was angry with injustice, and I lit a candle in Bandung City that shone brightly in West Java. After this, I will return home to take care of my family, just like you, taking care of daily life. Let's keep this candle lit," said Kang Emil.
