Dream - Performing dhuha prayer is highly recommended for Muslims because it contains many virtues. The procedure for dhuha prayer is very easy to practice because in principle it is not much different from the pillars of Islam for Muslims. The difference regarding how to perform dhuha prayer also does not involve fundamental matters. One of them is the different views of scholars regarding the number of raka'ahs for dhuha prayer. Some argue that the recommended prayer to be performed in the morning should be a maximum of 8 raka'ahs. There are also those who argue for 12 raka'ahs.
Without much offense about the differences, Dream will review the procedure for performing the dhuha prayer with 12 raka'at along with its tremendous benefits. However, regardless of the number of raka'at, the procedure for performing the dhuha prayer is not much different.
"The opinion regarding the maximum number of rak'ahs for the Duha prayer, which is 12 rak'ahs, was presented by Imam ar-Rafi'iy and Imam ar-Ruyani. The evidence used by both scholars is a hadith narrated by Imam al-Baihaqi, from Abu Dzar, who said:"
"The Prophet PBUH said, if you pray Dhuha two raka'at, it will not be recorded as negligence, if you pray four raka'at, it will be recorded as muhsinin, if you pray six raka'at, it will be recorded as someone who frequently stands in prayer, if you pray eight raka'at, it will be recorded as someone who is successful or lucky, if you pray ten raka'at, your sins will not be recorded on that day, if you pray twelve raka'at, Allah will build a house in paradise for you." (HR al-Baihaqi and he deemed it weak).
1. Reading the intention of praying dhuha. قُصَصًى سُنَّةَ الضُّحَى رَكْعَتَيْنِ مُسْتَقْبِلَ الْقِبْلَةِ أَدَاءً لِلَّهِ تَعَالَى Translation: "I intend to pray the sunnah of dhuha, two units, facing the qibla, at this moment for the sake of Allah the Almighty."
2. Takbiratul Ihram while saying Allahu Akbar. 3. It is recommended to recite the Opening Supplication. 4. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah. 5. Recite Surah As-Syams. 6. Bow with tranquility. 7. Stand up straight with tranquility. 8. Prostrate with tranquility. 9. Sit between the two prostrations with tranquility. 10. Perform the second prostration with tranquility. 11. Stand up again to perform the second cycle. 12. Recite Surah Al-Fatihah. 13. Recite Surah Ad-Dhuha. 14. Bow with tranquility. 15. Stand up straight with tranquility. 16. Prostrate with tranquility. 17. Sit between the two prostrations with tranquility. 18. Perform the second prostration with tranquility.
19. Tasyahud Akhir with tuma'ninah. 20. Saying greetings while looking to the right and left. 21. After that, continue to perform the dhuha prayer, two rak'ahs - two rak'ahs with one greeting until the total of 12 rak'ahs is fulfilled. That is the procedure for performing the dhuha prayer of 12 rak'ahs that needs to be known. Meanwhile, the recitation of short surahs, except for the two surahs mentioned above, will be discussed below.
Actually, Muslims are free to choose any Surah to be read during the Dhuha prayer. However, there are several Surahs that are recommended to be read. The recommended Surahs are: Surah Asy Syams, Surah Ad Duha, Surah Al Kafirun, Surah Al Quraisy, Surah Al Waqiah, Surah Al Ikhlas.
Meanwhile, the explanation in the Book of Al Taqriratus Sadidah mentions that there are four recommended letters to be read in performing the procedure of 12-raka'ah dhuha prayer, namely Surah Asy-Syams, Ad-Dhuha, Al-Kafirun, and Al-Ikhlas. If Sahabat Dream wants to perform the procedure of 12-raka'ah dhuha prayer, after finishing the aforementioned surahs, it is allowed to read any short surah to complete the raka'ahs.
Actually, there is no specific prayer that the Prophet Muhammad taught after performing the Dhuha prayer. Therefore, in the books of Fiqh, the scholars do not mention any prayer after the Dhuha prayer. However, there is one prayer after the Dhuha prayer that is popularly recited by Muslims all over the world. This prayer does not originate from the Prophet (peace be upon him). The prayer after the Dhuha prayer is mentioned by Asy-Syarwani in Syarh Al Minhaj and also mentioned by Ad-Dimyathi in I'anatuth Thalibiin.
"O Allah, indeed the morning brightness is Your brightness, and the beauty is Your beauty, and the strength is Your strength, and the power is Your power, and the protection is Your protection. O Allah, if my sustenance is in the heavens, then send it down, and if it is in the earth, then bring it forth, and if it is difficult, then make it easy, and if it is impure, then purify it, and if it is far, then bring it close by the right of Your brightness, beauty, and strength, and power. Grant me what You have granted Your righteous servants."
"O Allah, indeed the time of Dhuha is Your time, magnificence is Your magnificence, beauty is Your beauty, strength is Your strength, protection is Your protection. O Allah, if my sustenance is in the sky, then bring it down, if it is in the earth, then bring it forth, if it is difficult, then make it easy, if it is forbidden, then purify it, if it is far, then bring it close with Your truth and power (O my Lord), grant me what You grant to Your righteous servants."
The power of the benefits of performing the Dhuha prayer of 12 rak'ahs is important to be known by every Muslim. The benefits of performing the Dhuha prayer of 12 rak'ahs are not only as a practice to expand sustenance, but also as a path to wealth and to obtain a palace in heaven. For Sahabat Dream who feels that their sustenance is tight, it is better to seek from Allah through the means of performing the Dhuha prayer of 12 rak'ahs.
However, obtaining wealth must also be done with hard work, effort, and prayer. Many sacrifices must be made to obtain it. One of them is sincerely performing the practice of Dhuha prayer, consisting of 12 raka'at.
