Dream - Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) recorded the electability of the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka pair far surpassing their two rivals in East Java in the 2024 Presidential Election.

Executive Director of LSI, Djayadi Hanan, explained that the electability of Prabowo-Gibran is at 46.7 percent in the simulation of three pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates.

Followed by Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud 26.6 percent and Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar (Cak Imin) 16.2 percent, while 10.4 percent others do not know or did not answer.

In a closed simulation of three presidential candidates, Prabowo successfully surpassed Ganjar and Anies. The electability of the Minister of Defense is at 46.3 percent, while Ganjar is at 25.9 percent, Anies is at 16 percent, and 11.8 percent others do not know or did not answer.

Djayadi said, the name Prabowo is at the top of respondents' minds in East Java with a figure reaching 39 percent. Followed by Ganjar in second position with 22.2 percent, and Anies in third position with 14 percent. "Quite a few have not determined their choice or did not answer, which is 19.9 percent. So, if we look at this top of mind, solid support for Prabowo in East Java is at 39 percent," said Djayadi.

"Nevertheless, the possibility for respondents to change their choices is still significant. Therefore, Djayadi mentioned that the 2024 Presidential Election has the potential to be held in two rounds in the province."

The LSI survey was conducted on December 16-28, 2023. The survey population consists of all Indonesian citizens in East Java who have voting rights, and the total sample size is 8,800 respondents. Selected respondents were interviewed face-to-face by trained interviewers. The margin of error is around 1.1 percent at a 95 percent confidence level, assuming stratified random sampling.
