Jokowi announced that he has signed a decision regarding the salary increase for TNI-Polri members. He mentioned that the official regulations regarding this matter will be implemented as soon as possible.

Salary increases for members of the TNI-Polri during the Jokowi administration were indeed carried out in limited amounts. Only four times were recorded for the implementation of these salary increases. This is different from the previous administration, which reportedly implemented salary increases nine times.

Jokowi emphasized that each leadership period cannot be equated because it needs to be adjusted to the country's financial conditions and the dynamics of external influences that are currently occurring.

"If our fiscal position is under pressure externally, such as from COVID, trade wars, and geopolitical factors that are not feasible, it is impossible for us to do everything with careful consideration and calculation," said President Jokowi."

Ganjar expressed his views when answering a question from Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan regarding the assessment of the performance of the Ministry of Defense after previously giving a score of five regarding law enforcement in Indonesia.

In his delivery, Ganjar strives to build a state protection system that involves all parts, ensuring that the planning process becomes more precise with the involvement of all branches. Ganjar also highlights the importance of stability in defense planning, asserting that it should not be changing and requires strong consistency.

Presidential Candidate No 1 Criticizes the Performance of the Ministry of Defense in the Prabowo Era

Different from presidential candidate number 1, Anies Baswedan, who gave a low rating to the performance of the Ministry of Defense under the leadership of Prabowo Subianto, which was only 11 out of 100. Anies explained his reasons for giving a lower score than Ganjar to the performance of the Ministry of Defense under Prabowo Subianto. Anies highlighted the welfare of TNI-Polri members as an example. According to him, during President SBY's time, the salaries of TNI-Polri members increased 9 times, while under President Jokowi's leadership, this did not happen.

Anies also emphasized that Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto did not make any efforts to increase performance benefits for his personnel. In addition, he highlighted the procurement of second-hand main weapon systems (alutsista) purchased by the Ministry of Defense during Prabowo Subianto's era. According to Anies, the use of these second-hand alutsista can endanger the safety of TNI members.
