Praying for Debt Relief in Accordance with the Sunnah, Understand the Great Danger of Deliberately Delaying Repayment

Dream - Reading prayers for being burdened with debt is highly recommended, especially for those who are facing debt. This prayer is said with the hope that all debts and financial obligations can be resolved immediately.

"Rasulullah SAW has taught a prayer when burdened with debt as a form of effort to seek help from Allah SWT in seeking sustenance. If sustenance flows smoothly, God willing, debts and all bills can be paid off without involving anything that goes against Islamic law. As a note, Islam allows for debt as long as certain conditions are met. So, what is the prayer to recite when burdened with debt? To find out the prayer to recite when burdened with debt, read the following complete explanation as quoted from various sources."

"Don't Get Used to Debt!"

Debt is indeed allowed in Islam, more precisely it has been regulated in the fiqh muamalah. However, there are certain conditions that must be fulfilled. In addition, Muslims are also asked to be cautious when borrowing. Because if they frequently borrow, it is feared that it will become a habit. Therefore, debt is only allowed in urgent situations.

Not only that, the condition of debt that must be considered is not to make debt a lifestyle. If it becomes a habit, it can bring danger and threaten morality because it leads to lies. "Truly, when someone is in debt, they often say and lie, and promise and deny." (HR. Bukhari)

The following is the translation of the 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "Being trapped in debt will make someone easily influenced by the devil to commit sins. Sins and crimes are committed in order to repay their debts, such as stealing and robbing. This is the negative impact on human behavior when they become addicted to debt. Therefore, as much as possible, Sahabat Dream should avoid debt. If you have debt, then repay it immediately."

1. Prayer for Debt Relief in the Muslim Tradition

To pay off debts, humans need to work hard. Not only striving and working to pay off debts in a halal way, Muslims are also encouraged to increase reading prayers to pay off debts. This prayer is recited so that Allah SWT will facilitate your sustenance so that you can immediately pay off any debts that may have accumulated.

One of the prayers for debt relief based on a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim from Zuhair bin Harb. It has been narrated from Zuhair bin Harb, it has been narrated from Jarir, from Suhail, he said Abu Shalih commanded us that when one of us wants to sleep, he should lie on his right side and say: "

"O Allah, Lord of the seven heavens and the great Throne, our Lord and the Lord of everything, the Splitter of the seed and the date-stone, the Revealer of the Tawrat (Torah), the Injil (Gospel), and the Furqan (Quran). I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything; You are the One who takes hold of the forelock. O Allah, You are the First, so nothing is before You; You are the Last, so nothing is after You. You are the Manifest, so nothing is above You; You are the Hidden, so nothing is beyond You. Settle our debt and free us from poverty."

Translation: Meaning: "O Allah, the Lord who rules over the seven heavens, the Lord who rules over the magnificent Throne, our Lord and the Lord of everything. The Lord who splits the grains of plants and the seeds of fruits, the Lord who revealed the Torah, the Gospel, and the Furqan (the Qur'an). I seek refuge in You from the evil of everything that You hold by the forelock (all creatures under the power of Allah). O Allah, You are the First, there is nothing before You."

"You are the last, after You there is nothing. You are the one who is born, there is nothing above You. You are the Innermost, nothing escapes from You. Fulfill our debts and grant us wealth (sufficiency) to be free from poverty." (HR. Muslim no. 2713)

Meaning: "O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful sustenance and keep me away from the unlawful. Enrich me with Your grace so that I do not need anyone but You." (Narrated by Tirmidhi)"

3. Prayer for Being Burdened with Debt from the Narration of Abu Dawud

Next, here is the prayer taught by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to Muadh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) for the repayment of debts. Even after reciting this prayer, Allah SWT fulfilled the debts that Muadh had. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and sorrow, and I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the burden of debt and the oppression of men."

Translation: "It means: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worries and sadness, and I seek refuge in You from weakness and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the temptation of pride and conquering people's words by saying 'I can do it', O Almighty and Noble God, who has fulfilled His promises to me." (Narrated by Dawud)"

You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. In Your hand is all goodness. Indeed, You are Able to do all things. You are the Most Merciful of this world and the Hereafter, and You show mercy to them both. You give to whom You will and withhold from whom You will. Have mercy on me with a mercy that will suffice me and make me independent of the mercy of anyone other than You."

"O Allah, Owner of the kingdom, You give the kingdom to whom You will and You take the kingdom from whom You will, and You honor whom You will and You humiliate whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent. O Most Merciful of the world and the Hereafter, and the Most Merciful of them both, You give them to whom You will and You withhold them from whom You will. Have mercy upon me in a way that suffices me from the mercy of anyone other than You."

Translation: "Meaning: "O Allah, You are the owner of the kingdom. Honor whoever You will and humble whoever You will. In Your hands is all goodness, for You are Almighty over everything, the Most Merciful in this world and the hereafter, and the Most Merciful among them. You give it to whoever You will and prevent it from whoever You will. Have mercy on me with sufficient mercy, for no one can give mercy except You, O Allah." (HR. At Thabrani)"

"Danger of Deliberately Delaying Debt Repayment"

The following is a translation of the given 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The following are some dangers of intentionally delaying debt repayment, both in the world and in the hereafter as quoted from muslim.or.id:"

1. If Dead, Hindered from Entering Heaven Despite Martyrdom

Someone who dies leaving a debt will be prevented from entering heaven, even if they die as a martyr. This is explained in the following hadith: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, if a man is killed in the cause of Allah, then brought back to life, then killed again two more times, and he still has a debt, he will not enter heaven until his debt is paid off."

2. A Muslim's Soul Depends on Their Debt.

Something uncertain is certainly not liked by everyone. Especially if it is related to the afterlife, whether it be heaven or hell. In this matter, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The soul of a believer is suspended because of his debt, until the debt is paid off."

3. Friends who have debts are not abandoned by the Prophet Muhammad.

In a hadith, it is narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not pray for his companion who had debts when he passed away. Whereas the prayer from the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is intercession. This is explained in the following hadith from Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him): "The Prophet (pbuh) did not pray for a man who had debts. Then the deceased was brought before him."

He said, "Does he have any debts?" They answered, "Yes, two dinars." He said, "Pray for your friends." Through the above hadith, the meaning is that the Prophet Muhammad wants to convey to his companions that if they have debts, they should not postpone their payment until they die. However, at that time, he was already able to pay.

4. Not Settling Debt, Meeting Allah with the Status of a Thief

It is very dangerous for someone who has debt but does not immediately pay it off even though they are actually able to. A person who owes and intends not to pay it off will eventually meet Allah SWT in the status of a thief. This is explained in the following hadith: "Whoever owes and intends not to pay it off, then he will meet Allah (on the Day of Judgment) in the status of a thief."

5. Better Not to Be in Debt

For someone who has debt, it will bring them shame during the day and anxiety at night. This was explained by Umar bin Abdul Aziz as follows: "I advise you not to borrow, even if you experience difficulties, because indeed debt is a disgrace during the day and misery at night. Leave it, and surely your dignity and self-worth will be preserved, and there will still be honor for you among people as long as you live."

Praying for Debt Relief in Accordance with the Sunnah, Understand the Great Danger of Deliberately Delaying Repayment

That is the prayer for being trapped in debt taught by the Prophet Muhammad, along with its dangers for the Muslim community. So if you have a debt, it is better to pay it off immediately. Or it is even better not to borrow if not absolutely necessary.
