That area is called Taif, a cool city in the western region of Saudi Arabia. Located in the Asir mountain range and the Al-Hada mountains, Taif is 67 km away from Mecca.

To reach this cool city of Taif, we must travel for about 1-2 hours from the city of Makkah.

Different from other regions in Saudi Arabia, Taif is abundant with trees and flowers. The climate in this area greatly supports the fertility of the many roses that grow there.

Taif is also known as the City of Roses. There are around 800 flower plantations spread out. This is what attracts tourists to visit the little paradise in the middle of the desert.

The air in Taif is relatively cool. If Jakarta has Puncak Bogor as a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the crowded city, Saudi Arabia has Taif, which has cooler air than Makkah and Madinah.

"Because, compared to Makkah where the temperature reaches 45 degrees Celsius, the hot temperature in Taif only reaches around 33 degrees Celsius."

Taif is also known for its fruit production, so it's no wonder that there are many sellers of various fruits such as dates, grapes, and others. Historically, before Islam triumphed here, Taif was a producer of wine beverages.
