Seeing the Mysterious 'City' Underwater, Not Man-Made

The building that is very clear as if it was constructed by humans, its creator is not a human.

Dream - The waters around the island of Zakynthos, Greece, hold mysterious structures at a depth of 6 meters below the sea surface. If snorkeling tourists come here, they would surely think they have discovered a lost city. Yes, the site they see does indeed resemble a city. There are symmetrical rock structures, cylinders, and structures resembling lighthouses. So, anyone who sees it would surely mistake it for a sunken city. However, wait a minute. That is not a man-made city. According to a study published in Marine and Petroleum Geology, the structures are much cooler.

The building, which at first glance appears to be clearly constructed by humans, is actually very surprising. Its creator is not a human.

The following is the translation of the 'Bahasa' text to 'English' while preserving any html tags: "The archaeologists who were studying this structure initially thought it was man-made. But after diving, they did not find any coins, pottery, or other signs of life, which are commonly found in ancient civilization ruins. The archaeologists had to work harder to find out what structure they were studying. They had to search for other theories to explain the "pillars" and "underwater roads"."

Appearance of the structure beneath the ocean floor that confused scientists.

"Mystery Solved"

And they found evidence that there was no human intervention in the structure. Everything happened naturally, created by bacteria in the ocean. The structure contains a mineral called dolomite, a calcium byproduct produced by microbes that consume methane. When bacteria gather around the gas source, their calcium waste reacts with methane to produce a cement-like substance that forms the structure.

"One of the underwater structures found"

"In essence, what you see is a system of fossilized bacterial disposal," said the researcher, Julian Andrews, from the University of East Anglia. Apparently, the "lost city" does not indicate the existence of ancient human civilization, but rather evidence of ancient gas leaks penetrating the seafloor."

Because methane gas from the seabed leaked, the location became a gathering place for microbes.

Thus, it became fossils in various forms, both "towers" and "roads".

Currently, there are no more gas leaks around the area.

The leakage is believed to have occurred 5.3 million to 2.6 million years ago.

This structure is not unusual. However, it is usually found in even deeper places, where gas seeps into the water. (NDTV)
