"Dream - Smartphone manufacturers always remind their users to use original products. It's not just about sales; safety is also a reason why companies often make this appeal. This recommendation is reflected in the experience of an iPhone 15 Pro Max owner when charging the battery using a fake charger. Instead of the battery being fully charged, the charging cable from the counterfeit product actually appeared to be melting."
The translation of "Kabelnya Meleleh" to English is "The cable is melting."
This user uploaded their story on Reddit under the name NoisilyMarvellous. They found their iPhone's USB-C port melting the USB-C cable from the charger they were using.
The translation of "Luka Bakar di Jari" to English is "Burn Injury on the Finger".
"NoisilyMarvellous posted a picture to show the damage. The burnt end of the USB-C cable is still attached to the port. "I know the iPhone 15 Pro Max gets hot, but after a month of use, my iPhone gets so hot while charging overnight that it leaves a burn mark on my finger," he wrote, quoted from BDR, Thursday, December 28, 2023."
The translation of "Source: BDR" from Bahasa to English is "Source: BDR". The text remains the same as it is already in English.
"When I removed the charger, some of the plastic melted, leaving a burn mark on the body and a piece of metal from the USB-C port stuck in the phone," he continued.
"NoisilyMarvellous questions the cause of his cable melting, whether it's due to the cable, charger, or his phone. He also asks for help from Reddit users who have tricks to remove the part of his USB cable that is stuck."
"I do not have AppleCare, is this something that will be fixed by Apple?" he asked. This Reddit post went viral and many people replied and speculated that the charging cable was the cause."
In the comment that received 317 downvotes, many people reminded to use an official charger from Apple or a credible third-party company. Some people criticized NoisilyMarvellous for using a cheap generic USB-C cable to charge.
In a different post, NoisilyMarvellous said she could pull out the melted plug from the USB-C port. However, the inside of the port is already charred. "The entire inside is blackened, and most importantly, it can no longer charge with a cable charger," she wrote.
