Jokowi conveyed this message at the Land Certificate Distribution Event for the People of East Java Province at GOR Delta, Sidoarjo Regency, East Java."

"Jokowi asks the public to really calculate first the sources of income and the ability to pay installments and loan interest. This must be done before deciding to mortgage the land certificates that were just symbolically distributed by the President to 4,000 citizens in East Java."

The Ministry of ATR/BPN has recorded the progress of land registration in Indonesia itself, from a total target of 126 million plots of land, so far 110 million plots of land have been registered, of which 90.1 million plots of land have been certified. Meanwhile, for East Java, from the estimated total number of plots of land of 19.9 million plots, 16.5 million of them have been registered and there are 3.4 million plots of land that have not been registered.

"From the land registration process, there is an increase in economic value. Since it was implemented in 2017, the increase in economic value from land certification has reached Rp6,066.7 trillion, and 96 percent of it circulates in the community through Mortgage Rights. Specifically, the increase in economic value in East Java alone in 2022 reached Rp116.6 trillion, and 95 percent of it circulates in the community through Mortgage Rights."
