"Dream - Ahead of the 79th anniversary celebration of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) in the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) on August 17, 2024, the Communication Team between Ministries/Agencies of IKN continues to monitor the latest developments in the construction of IKN."
The Chairman of the Implementation Task Force for the Development of the Capital City, Danis H Sumadilaga, explained that what was prepared to support the smooth running of the August 17 ceremony includes the parade ground, the presidential office, and water infrastructure.
"In IKN there is already a raw water source, besides that there is another source namely Sepaku Semoi Dam. Its capacity technically at Intake Sepaku is 3,000 liters per second. Meanwhile, Sepaku Semoi Dam is 2,500 liters per second."

Danis revealed that for the first stage, the raw water source to be used will be sourced from Intake Sepaku. "This will be processed through clean water treatment beside the intake, then flowed through a 16 km pipeline to the government center. From there, it will be distributed to each plot and every building as clean water to be used in IKN," he explained.
Selain itu, Danis explained, the toll road from Balikpapan to IKN is targeted to be operational on August 17, 2024. "At this time, the Ministry of PUPR is currently constructing toll roads, namely sections 3A, 3B, and 5A, with an average progress of 90 percent, Insha Allah. We will operationalize it as one lane with three lanes each and two lanes to be used towards IKN," he said.
Currently, the land journey to reach IKN from Balikpapan takes approximately two and a half hours. Through the new toll road, the land journey can be completed in one hour.
"If from Balikpapan earlier it took two and a half hours, starting from the functional toll it is around one to one and a half hours, so we save one and a half hours. Hopefully, by August 17th, it can already be realized."
