Dream - The Ministry of Transportation ensures that the training aircraft that crashed in the BSD area, Tangerang Serpong on Sunday, May 19, 2024, belongs to the Indonesia Flying Club or the Indonesian Aviators Association. The accident resulted in three fatalities.
"\u201cIt is not an aircraft (from Curug Flight School), but Indonesia Flying Club,\u201d said the spokesperson of the Ministry of Transportation, Adita Irawati, as quoted from Merdeka.com, Monday, May 20, 2024."
Quoting the company's website, Indonesia Flying Club has its operational place at Pondok Cabe Airport, South Tangerang. This location only takes a 30-minute drive from South Jakarta. "We have the most easily accessible airport around Jakarta for you to visit, and fly for recreation or hobby," wrote Indonesia Flying Club.
Indonesia Flying Club offers training based on a sports pilot license and provides professional aviation services. The company claims to have complied with the applicable regulations to ensure flight safety.
The company uses three types of certified special aircraft units Cessna 172/PK-IFD, Cessna 152/PK-IFC, Cessna 152/PK-SA316, and experimental aircraft such as the Tecnam series, Searay Amphibi, and Jabiru.
The history of this company began with a group of Aero Sport enthusiasts using Experimental aircraft by Halim Phillips Soelistio, Nurrachman Pudjo, Basuki, Firman Darmawan, Chepy R. Nasution, Capt. Faisal Adrian Zein. Then, the Indonesia Flying Club was officially formed on April 13, 2004 by the founders with the aim of making this flying club a home for Aero Sport enthusiasts.
The founders finally decided to centralize Aero Sport activities in Hangar Swayasa - FASI Pondok Cabe.
This hangar was built by several Swayasa FASI activists coordinated by brother Kartowisastro (Herudi - Hertriono) and team (1985) and perfected by Bakat Purwanto and team (1998).
