In the video, some of them are seen taking off their ihram clothes due to the hot weather in Saudi Arabia. Among several blue tarpaulins, a typical Indonesian batik cloth is seen used as a tent cover.

Backpacker hajj is also known as independent hajj. In terms of cost, independent hajj is much cheaper compared to the conventional or regular method.

For regular hajj, the total cost can reach more than Rp40 million. Meanwhile, if you choose to do independent or backpacker hajj, you only need to spend around Rp25 million.

The total cost of independent hajj includes round-trip tickets, hajj visa fees, vaccinations, hajj authority payments in Jeddah, accommodation and transportation for 9 days in Saudi Arabia, as well as ihram clothing expenses.

However, specifically for backpacker hajj, the Saudi Arabian government prohibits Saudi Arabian citizens and foreign nationals from going on hajj without a tasreh or official permission from the Saudi Arabian government.
