Dream - A healthy lifestyle can have a positive impact on physical and mental health. It can be achieved by consuming a variety of nutritious foods, maintaining a regular sleep pattern, and exercising.

Andien Aisyah, a well-known Indonesian singer, is very consistent in implementing a healthy lifestyle. Born on August 25, 1985, she has her own tricks to do it.

When met at the Green Rebel event in Jakarta on February 15, 2023, Andien revealed her key, which is to follow the same routine repeatedly.

"To maintain physical and mental health, it is important for us to stick to the routines we have established," said Andien.

Every day, Andien has a morning routine that she consistently follows. It starts with waking up and drinking a glass of water, followed by meditation and exercise.

"Usually, I wake up and drink a glass of water, then I practice breathing, meditate, and exercise. It may seem daunting for some people, but how much we are willing to maintain all of that eventually determines whether we will do it every day," said Andien.

She revealed that this habit needs to be done consistently, so that it becomes easier to follow. Starting a healthy lifestyle can be challenging.

By continuously practicing this habit, the routine will become easier over time. Andien admitted that sleep and exercise are interconnected.

For Andien, when she sleeps with a regulated sleep schedule, she feels more refreshed when exercising in the morning. On the other hand, lack of sleep can make her feel more reluctant to exercise.

"One of the factors that determine a good feeling during exercise is getting enough sleep," said Andien.

Andien herself has set her bedtime at 10 PM every day. This way, her exercise time is always the same every day.

Pay Attention to 4 Simple Things to Prevent Injuries During Exercise

Dream - Exercise should be a routine and a right that every person's body should obtain. Our exercise habits usually stop when we enter the college years because there are no physical education classes.

However, exercise should not only be limited to fulfilling academic requirements. You should make it a routine. Dream friends can run, swim, cycle, or engage in other types of sports to enjoy the benefits of exercise.

Although it may seem easy, you should pay attention to the movements during exercise to make the impact on your body more effective. Exercising without considering some important factors can lead to injuries.

Here are some tips to prevent injuries during exercise from Orthopedic Surgeon Specialist, Asa Ibrahim.

1. Warm Up

This is the most commonly overlooked cause of injuries. Perform dynamic or static stretching for at least 15-30 minutes before exercising, especially if you are engaging in high-risk activities.

2. Lift Weights According to Your Ability

Pay attention to the amount of weight you lift during exercise. Make sure the weight is not heavier than your muscle strength.

"Muscles protect our joints, so if you are overweight/obese and your muscles are weak, you should avoid high-impact sports such as badminton/futsal/basketball because the risk of injury is very high," said Asa in an Instagram post.

Even if you have warmed up and trained adequately, heavy weights can still potentially cause injuries. This is especially true if your muscles are not well-trained and your body is overweight or obese.

"So, it is important for those who are still obese to choose sports wisely."

3. Do Not Ignore Chronic Muscle/Joint Pain

Do not ignore muscle or joint pain, especially if it occurs frequently.

"Usually, people have experienced mild pain in the knees/shoulders/arms, but they can still exercise. However, over time, the condition worsens and becomes a serious and difficult-to-heal injury," he explained.

Consult a doctor immediately if you experience joint pain to prevent difficult-to-treat injuries.

4. Choose the Right Type of Exercise

"As we get older, there will be physiological changes in our bodies. If we are not aware of these changes, the risk of injury will increase."

The capacity of muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints will decrease with age. Even if you were active in sports during your younger years, your body's abilities will decline if not consistently trained and if you experience weight gain.

Therefore, choose the type of exercise that is suitable for your age and body capacity to avoid injuries.
