So Sweet, Man Gives Homemade 'Hermes Bag' as a Gift for His Beloved

Dream - Every romantic relationship between lovers always has a unique story. This time, it comes from a man named Alexander Tsway who lives in Bellevue, Washington, United States.

Alexander's girlfriend is apparently interested in Hermes bags. The price of the bag is certainly very expensive, but he still wants to fulfill his girlfriend's wish.

Alexander decided to make the bag himself. Of course, with materials that can be purchased at an affordable price. He then shared the process of making the DIY Hermes bag on Instagram @liveyoursway, about two weeks ago.

"When I saw the price of a Birkin bag on the internet, I couldn't believe it. One hundred thousand dollars for a bag is crazy. But what's even crazier is that instead of buying it, I decided to surprise her by making it myself," he said in a video uploaded on Instagram.

He started the process of making the bag. Starting from going to a leather store to choose some materials from black crocodile leather.

Then he continued to search for blueprints for the Birkin bag. In total, he spent around US$400 or IDR 5.8 million to buy the materials and tools that would be used for the project.

In their second video post, he revealed that he couldn't find the same leather material used by the company that produces the bag brand. Fortunately, the store helped him choose high-quality materials priced at $80.

The process didn't go smoothly. Alexander admitted that he made a mistake by using a kitchen knife to cut the leather for the base of the bag. So he wasted some good materials.

In his video, Alexander also showed the process of making holes in the body of the bag and sewing it by hand using a needle and thread.

"This is very challenging because each hole has to be punched by hand. And I had to do it twice because of the thickness of the leather. I also had to sew each hole and make sure everything is neat," he said.

Despite facing various challenges, Alexander finally completed his work. The gift was one month late from the anniversary with his beloved.

When shown, his girlfriend looked surprised. Her face was glowing with happiness. So sweet, right? Are you jealous, Dream friends?
