The woman named Ashley Summers was initially visiting her relatives' house over the weekend. At that time, she felt very thirsty and told people around her that she felt "dehydrated, dizzy, and felt like she couldn't drink enough water."

She died from water poisoning. Ashley's brother said that her death shocked the family. "When they first talked about water toxicity, it seemed like something unusual."
"Someone said she drank four bottles of water in 20 minutes. I mean, an average water bottle is about 16 ounces, so she drank 64 ounces in a span of 20 minutes. That's half a gallon. That's what you should drink throughout the day," he said, as quoted by The Independent.
This is not the first case of death due to water poisoning. Water poisoning can cause seizures, brain damage, coma, and even death in serious cases.
