Dream - Approaching Eid al-Fitr, shopping activities in the market or shopping centers are becoming more crowded. People are busy preparing all the necessities to celebrate this joyous moment. One common habit that is done by the Muslim community in Indonesia is buying new clothes for Eid. In fact, some families have a tradition of wearing matching outfits to celebrate this special day.

"A person is advised to wear fragrance and adorn themselves as previously mentioned in the Friday chapter. But here, a person is advised to wear their best clothes even if they are not white. When white clothes and non-white clothes are equally good, then wearing white clothes is preferable on Id day. Id day is different from Friday."

The meaning of Id day is to show the blessings of Allah. Therefore, wearing the best clothes is more preferable. Meanwhile, the purpose of Friday is to show perfection, so wearing white clothes is the best. However, those who stay at home (not going out to pray Id) and those who go out to pray Id are also encouraged to take a bath, adorn themselves, and wear perfume.

Based on the explanation above, it is clear that Muslims are advised to wear their best clothes to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. However, our society misunderstands it as wearing new clothes. We should not let this celebration of victory, which essence is to forgive each other, become something that makes us excessive.
