Dream - The Day of Judgment or the end of days is an event believed and embraced in Islam. This has been explained in the Quran and the hadiths of the Prophet.

The Day of Judgment marks the end of the days in this world and there will be no more world after it. For Muslims themselves, believing in the Day of Judgment is very important. In fact, this is equated with belief in Allah SWT.

However, it is not explained when exactly the Day of Judgment will occur. Because only Allah SWT knows that. One day, there were some Quraysh people from Mecca who asked Prophet Muhammad about when the Day of Judgment will occur.

Because of this question, Allah SWT then revealed revelation to Prophet Muhammad as an answer to the question from the Quraysh people.

Here is an explanation in the Quran about when the Day of Judgment will come as summarized by Dream through various sources.

Answer from the Quran about When the Day of Judgment Will Occur

When there were Quraysh people from Mecca who asked Prophet Muhammad about when the Day of Judgment will occur, he received revelation from Allah SWT. The question from the Quraysh people was their assumption that the Day of Judgment is impossible to happen.

This is explained in His words through the verse of Surah Ash-Shura verse 18:

"Those who do not believe in the Day of Judgment ask for it to come quickly, and those who believe are afraid of it and they are certain that the Day of Judgment is true. Know that those who deny the occurrence of the Day of Judgment are truly far astray." (Surah Ash-Shura: 18)

The question given by the Quraysh people was a denial that must be answered by Prophet Muhammad with a wise answer. He answered, the issue of when the Day of Judgment will occur is not a human matter, even for a prophet.

However, it is the affair of Allah SWT. Only Allah SWT knows when the Judgment Day will occur along with the process of its occurrence.

As a prophet, his duty is only to give a warning about the truth of the coming of the Day of Judgment and the magnitude of that event through the Quran.

However, the polytheists who asked Prophet Muhammad had evil intentions aimed at mocking him from his answer. Meanwhile, as believers, they certainly believe in the occurrence of the Day of Judgment and entrust everything only to Allah SWT.

The answer to the question from the Quraysh people was answered through the verse of Surah Al-A'raf verse 187:

"They ask you (Muhammad) about the Day of Judgment, "When will it happen?" Say, "Indeed, knowledge of the Day of Judgment is with my Lord; no one can explain its timing except Him. (The Day of Judgment) is very heavy (in its turmoil) for the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, it will not come to you except suddenly." They ask you as if you know it." Say (Muhammad), "Indeed, knowledge of (the Day of Judgment) is with Allah, but most people do not know."" (Surah Al-A'raf: 187)

Answer from Prophet Muhammad to the Question of Angel Gabriel

The question about when the Day of Judgment will occur was also obtained by Prophet Muhammad through the angel Gabriel. At that time, the angel Gabriel disguised himself as a man. The man asked him:

"O Messenger of Allah, what is faith?"

"You believe in Allah, His angels, His books, meeting Him, His messengers, and the Day of Resurrection," answered Prophet Muhammad.

The man then asked again:

"O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam?"

"Islam is that you worship Allah and do not associate anything with Him, establish the obligatory prayers, pay the obligatory charity, and fast in the month of Ramadan," answered Prophet Muhammad.

The man asked again:

"O Messenger of Allah, what is Ihsan?"

"You worship Allah as if you see Him. And if you do not see Him, then know that He sees you," answered Prophet Muhammad.

Then, the man asked about when the Day of Judgment will occur:

"O Messenger of Allah, when will the Day of Judgment occur?"

"The one who is asked about this matter is no more knowledgeable than the one who asks. But I will tell you its signs: When a slave woman gives birth to her master, that is one of its signs. When the poor become leaders of people, that is one of its signs. When shepherds compete in building tall buildings. Those are some of its signs, which only Allah knows.""

Then, Prophet Muhammad recited one of Allah's verses that explained that only Allah alone knows about the Day of Judgment. It is in the verse of Surah Luqman verse 34:

"Indeed, only with Allah is the knowledge of the Day of Judgment; and He is the one who sends down rain, and knows what is in the womb. And no one knows what he will do tomorrow. And no one knows on which land he will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted." (Surah Luqman: 34)

After hearing the answer from Prophet Muhammad, the man left. Then he said to call the person back. When the companions were about to call the man again, but the man was no longer there. Then he said that the man was the angel Gabriel who came to teach the religion of Islam. This is explained in a hadith narrated by Muslim.
