Behind the Grandeur of Al Jabbar Mosque in Bandung, There is a Touching Story of Ridwan Kamil's Mother

Dream - The construction of Al Jabbar Mosque located in Bandung, West Java is finally completed. It was temporarily halted due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the mosque with modern architecture was inaugurated today, Friday, December 30, 2022.

The mosque, located in Cimenerang Village, Gedebage District, Bandung, has a unique design. Without a dome, this mosque has a stacked cone-shaped roof ornament.

Apparently, this mosque was designed by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. On his Instagram account, the governor, who is commonly known as Kang Emil, shared the moment when he accompanied his mother, Tjutju Sukaesih, or affectionately called Maci, to tour the mosque before its inauguration.

"Maci, my beloved mother, shed tears of joy when she saw the completion of Al Jabbar Mosque," he wrote in the caption.

According to Ridwan Kamil, this mosque has brought back memories of when he argued with his father about the career he would choose. At that time, Kang Emil insisted on pursuing a chemical engineering education.

This choice did not align with his father's desire for him to pursue architecture. "And fate brought me into architecture as the will of the late," he said.

Kang Emil quoted Maci's words, saying that Allah knows best what is good for him, which is to become an architect.

What was meant by his late father is clearly evident when he can design a mosque like Al Jabbar.

"Look, Allah knows best what is good for you," said Maci.

Kang Emil said that besides its unique design, this mosque also has a digital museum of the Prophet and is friendly to the elderly and disabled. It has a ramp access and 2 adequate lifts, as well as facilities for ablution and special toilets for people with disabilities.

According to merdeka.com, the mosque building, which consists of three floors, is estimated to accommodate around 60 thousand worshipers.

The first floor will be built as a museum of the Prophet's history. The second and third floors will be places of worship that can accommodate worshipers.

In addition, it is equipped with facilities for overnight stays, training, libraries, meetings, and seminars.

This mosque feels cool with green plants surrounding it. Combined with the beautiful mosque roof. It's no wonder this mosque has become an attraction for the community.

Al Jabbar Mosque will become a new icon and religious tourism center in the City of Flowers.
