Viral Appearance of a Social Assistance Recipient's House with 'Poor Family' Stickers, Netizens are Amazed by Its Form

Dream - Poverty remains an unresolved problem. The government continues to strive to overcome it by providing various assistance.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency, in March 2022 the number of poor people in Indonesia reached 26.16 million. Meanwhile, Indonesia's poverty rate in the same month was 9.54 percent.

Various assistance programs have been disbursed, but they often miss the target. Assistance that should be received by the poor is instead received by those who are economically well-off.

As seen in a viral video uploaded on the Instagram account @kabarnegri. The short video shows the appearance of various houses with 'poor family' stickers in a settlement.

However, the appearance of the house is contrary to the word poor, it looks good and big. 

"Has the distribution of social assistance been on target? Certainly not," wrote the caption.

Another thing depicted in the video is that one of the houses has a grocery store right next to the owner's house.

The caption also explains that the location of the video is in Indramayu Regency, West Java. 

"The following video depicts the luxurious houses of social assistance recipients with 'POOR FAMILY' stickers," continued the caption.

This video is then filled with various comments from netizens with their perspectives.

"It's not just in Indramayu, there are actually many, it's just that there hasn't been a recorded video," said one netizen.

"Well, look at the real economic conditions now. A nice house doesn't guarantee a good economy. It could be a house inherited from parents, inside there are orphaned children, disabled people, and they have no one to support them. Or maybe the people inside are sick, bankrupt, unable to work, and find it difficult to even have a meal. We can't judge if we don't know the reality. Because in my area, there are also similar cases, and the economic conditions are indeed dire," said another netizen.

"It happens in other areas too..." wrote another netizen.

"On the other hand, there are families whose conditions are less capable but refuse social assistance from the government because they believe they can still meet their needs by doing odd jobs. They are proud that their house has a sticker indicating they are beneficiaries of social assistance... this is an inappropriate mental revolution 😂😂," said a netizen.
