This incident happened in Tanjung Tiram District, Batubara Regency, North Sumatra. The thief was stuck between the iron door for 5 hours.
This action was captured by the homeowner's CCTV camera and uploaded by the Instagram account @tkpmedan.
In the CCTV footage, the thief with the initials BI can only surrender when trapped in the iron door. Occasionally, the man can be seen trying to escape from the grip of the iron door.
Unfortunately, his attempts always failed until he was caught by the homeowner. Initially, the 30-year-old man had stolen from the victim's neighbor by climbing and dismantling the roof.
That's when he had the intention to steal from the neighboring house where he got trapped in the iron door.
He then wedged the victim's house door with a wooden beam so that it wouldn't close, and briefly left to bring stolen goods from the neighboring house.
After that, he returned to the house, where the door had been wedged, and wanted to try to enter and steal valuable items.
When his head and half of his body entered, the wooden beam wedging the door fell and hit him.
Because the wooden beam wedging the iron door fell, the heavy door weighing tens of kilograms trapped his body, almost causing his death.
Kapolsek Labuhan Ruku, AKP Ferry Kusnadi, said that the incident occurred on Thursday, March 8, 2023, around 02:00 AM.Â
"The beam came off when he entered the house, causing the perpetrator to get trapped in the door," said Ferry Kusnadi.
In the morning, the homeowner was shocked to see a man trapped in the iron door of his house. They immediately contacted the police.
After being successfully rescued, the thief who almost died was taken to the hospital and then processed legally.
