Remember the Viral Video of Junior High School Students Pooling Money to Buy Shoes for Their Friend, Governor Ridwan Kamil Gives a More Surprising Gift

Dream - The kindness shown by the students of SMP Negeri 3 Kota Tasikmalaya, West Java (Jabar) who bought shoes for their friend received appreciation from Governor Ridwan Kamil. The number one person in Jabar promised a cash prize worth Rp25 million.

The action of the students helping to buy shoes for their classmate previously went viral on social media. The students at the school set aside their pocket money to be collected and used to buy shoes as a gift for their friend.  

The video was uploaded by the Instagram account @insta_julid and received various responses from netizens.

In the video, the condition of one student's shoes is already worn out and damaged.

Another student who felt sorry took the initiative to collect money from other friends to buy new shoes.

At the end of the video, the student with the worn-out shoes named Yandi looked happy and touched while holding the box of new shoes given by his friends.

The unity and solidarity of the students whose video went viral on social media caught the attention of Governor of Jabar, Ridwan Kamil.

In his Instagram post @ridwankamil, Ridwan Kamil communicated virtually with the students directly involved, namely Rafi (initiator), Yandi (recipient), and Azis (recorder).

"Those who pooled their money to buy shoes for their friend in need, with virtual greetings to Rafi (initiator), Yandi (recipient), and Azis (recorder)," wrote Ridwan Kamil.

In the conversation, Yandi admitted to being happy and touched to receive new shoes as a gift from his friends.

Ridwan Kamil also gave a message to Yandi to repay his friend's kindness when he succeeds in the future.

"If your fate is good, one day when you become an adult, you will have a lot of blessings, don't forget to help others too," said Ridwan Kamil.

Impressed by their solidarity, Ridwan Kamil plans to give a gift to the students. He then asked what gift they wanted.

Funnily enough, the students asked to be followed back by Ridwan Kamil on social media. "Please follow back, sir," they said in unison.

Unexpectedly, Ridwan also gave a cash prize of Rp25 million as a form of appreciation to the three students.

"In addition to granting their follow back request, I also gave them 25 million Rupiah to be used for humanitarian innovation activities. It's up to the students to come up with ideas," wrote Ridwan Kamil.

"At the same time, we give a small gift in the form of a follow back to @ppoongduutt @schymiit @yndimaulanaibrahim," he added.

Ridwan Kamil also hopes that the students can continue to spread the example of humanity and inspire their peers.

"I hope they stay motivated and continue to spread the example of humanity and become an inspiration to their peers. Stay spirited, my dear children, may your dreams come true. Amen," he continued.
