Jisoo Blackpink Solo Debut, Breaks Record as Female Soloist with Highest Pre-Order Album Sales in Kpop

Dream - Jisoo Blackpink has finally made her solo debut, with the album 'ME' officially released today. The 1995-born woman even made history as the female soloist with the highest number of pre-order albums in the Kpop industry.

On March 20, 2023, YG Entertainment officially announced that Jisoo's solo single album 'ME' has surpassed 950,000 pre-orders. 

According to WWD, if Jisoo manages to sell one million copies of 'ME', she will become the fourth solo artist in history to achieve "million seller" status, following Seo Taiji (of Seo Taiji and Boys), Baekhyun of EXO, and Jin of BTS.

YG Entertainment also confirmed that the album 'ME' has reached over 1.24 million pre-orders.

The main song in Jisoo's album titled 'Flower' has been released on Blackpink's YouTube. According to Dream's observation, the Flower music video has been watched by more than 6 million views in just 1 hour.

The music video for Jisoo Blackpink became the "largest-budgeted video ever made for a Blackpink video," according to YG Entertainment agency, as quoted from Koreajoongangdaily.

"We filmed all of Jisoo's music videos overseas," the agency said.

Previously, other Blackpink members have released solo albums, such as Lisa with 'Lalisa', Rose with '-R-' in 2021, and Jennie with 'Solo' in 2018.
