Mother of Brigadier J Cries Out to Ferdy Sambo: 'With Open Eyes, You Took My Child's Life'

Dream - Rosti Simanjuntak, the mother of Brigadier J, expressed her heartache when facing her late son's superior, Ferdy Sambo. The meeting took place during the ongoing trial of Brigadier J's planned murder against the former Kadiv Propam and his wife, Putri Candrawathi.

Rosti Simanjuntak and her husband, Samuel Hutabarat, who were present as witnesses, seized the moment to convey their feelings as parents who have lost their beloved son.

With tears streaming down her face, Rosti, without trying to hold back her emotions, saw Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi express all their feelings towards their son's superior.

"With sadistic intent, with open eyes, you took my child's life, you seized what was his, you," Rosti said at the South Jakarta District Court, November 1, 2022.

Meanwhile, Yoshua's father delivered a message to Sambo, who is also the father of his children. He asked Sambo to switch positions and imagine if he had to lose a child.

"Mr. Ferdy Sambo, let me become you, and you become Mr. Ferdy Sambo," he said.

"With such sadistic intent, taking the life of my child or his child's life by force in his own home, how does it feel?" he added.

It is known that Ferdy Sambo is being tried under Article 340 of the Criminal Code (KUHP) as a subsidiary to Article 338 of the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 ke-1 of the Criminal Code.

Ferdy Sambo is also accused of obstructing the investigation in the case of Yoshua's murder. Ferdy Sambo is charged under Law No. 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law No. 11 of 2008 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions and the Criminal Code.

Mother of Brigadier J Confronts Ferdy Sambo: Only God Has the Right to Take Our Child's Life

Dream - Rosti Simanjuntak, the mother of Brigadier J, cried as she testified in the case of her son's murder by defendants Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi. In front of Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi, Rosti reminded them that they had no right to take her child's life.

"Our hearts are shattered, Ma'am, hearing that my child, in a healthy state, with open eyes, in a prostrating position, had his life seized, as a creation of God who, to our knowledge, has a victorious faith," said Rosti in the trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, November 1, 2022.

Rosti never expected that her son, whom she always prayed for his safety, would die at the hands of his commander.

"Only God has the right to decide a child's life, but it was his own superior, his own commander, who couldn't protect him and mercilessly took my child's life," she added.

Rosti admitted that she always advised her son to respect anyone he met in a foreign land. For her, Brigadier J was a child who always followed her advice.

"Because we Batak people have a principle, wherever you go, whoever you meet, whoever replaces your parents there, my child followed all the teachings, advice, and suggestions from his mother," she said.

To the judge, Rosti ensured that her son always held firmly to those teachings. She believed that Brigadier J behaved well towards his parents and superiors.

"Because every day, I tried to communicate with this child to always do his best, never let your superiors doubt you," said Rosti.

"My child said, 'I'm ready, Mom, I'm good. The important thing is that I'm healthy and safe, and you, Mom, are safe working here. I'm doing well working here, my Mom.' But unexpectedly, my child, who had good behavior, had to end up in the hands of his superior FS, the superior he respected, it's heartbreaking, Sir.
