Qari from Jakarta Wins International MTQ Championship in Dubai

Dream - Fatwa Hadi Maulana has brought honor to Indonesia in an international event. The Qari from Jakarta achieved success in the 26th International Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur'an (MTQ) competition in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He successfully ranked 4th in the Tahfidz 30 Juz category in the event held from March 24 to April 4, 2023.

Ahmad Zayadi, the Director of Islamic Public Information at the Ministry of Religious Affairs, stated that this achievement can serve as both inspiration and motivation for surpassing other countries.

"This serves as both inspiration and motivation for all of us, that the best sons and daughters of Indonesia can stand on par with and excel over competitors from other countries," said Ahmad Zayadi, as quoted from Kemenag.go.id.

Previously, Fatwa Hadi Maulana was the 1st place winner in the National MTQ competition in the Tahfiz 30 Juz category for males in 2022.

Meanwhile, Fatwa's recruitment as the Indonesian delegate for this International MTQ event was conducted by the National Quran Recitation Development Agency (LPTQ). Looking at Fatwa's track record as the best participant (finalist) and the hope champion in the national MTQ/STQ event.

Rijal Ahmad Rangkuty, the Sub-Director of the Quran Recitation and Alhadist Musabaqah Institution, appreciates the training process for Qaris that has been carried out, resulting in international achievements.

"This is inseparable from the increasingly better MTQ organization system, which produces quality champions," said Rijal.

He stated that this also demonstrates the effectiveness of the LPTQ training system, as well as the selection process for delegates.

"This international achievement also shows that the LPTQ training system is effective and the selection process for sending delegates is professional and well-measured," he added.
