The Story of a Man Fasting for the First Time After Converting, Secretly Breaking the Fast

Dream - Chinese descendant man, Adam Kelvin, shares his story of fasting for the first time after converting to Islam.

The man, whose real name is Eh Jun Guang, admitted that he had never thought of fasting throughout his life.

He was actually surprised how Muslims can endure without eating and drinking during the month of Ramadan.

However, a few years before converting to Islam, he tried to learn fasting with his Muslim friends at school.

“But a few years before converting to Islam, I tried fasting with my Muslim friends at school,” he said, as quoted from Siakap Keli.

Adam said that the first day of fasting felt like he was going to die. However, as time went by, Adam started to get used to it. For him, eating after fasting was an extraordinary pleasure.

“The first day was like I was going to die. However, it got better as time went on. The pleasure of eating after fasting all day is really amazing,” he said.

With early fasting practice, he had no problem fasting after converting to Islam.

Adam shared the sad story of his struggle to become a convert. When he decided to embrace Islam, none of his family knew.

He dared not tell the truth to his parents because his mother and father were very strict in their upbringing.

There are CCTV cameras in every corner of his house, making it difficult for him to fast during the day. When it's time to break the fast, his pet dog will fetch the food and bring it to the bathroom.

“Every time it's time to break the fast, the dog will fetch the food and bring it to the bathroom,” Adam said.

He then breaks his fast in the bathroom. The man was almost caught by his parents because of the CCTV near the bathroom.

Despite facing many challenges, it did not make him lose hope. According to him, that is the test that must be faced as a convert during Ramadan.
