Treasure Worth Rp8.3 Trillion Found in Medina, Saudi Arabia

Dream - Gold and copper treasures were found in the region of Medina, Saudi Arabia, precisely around Aba Al-Raha. These precious metals were discovered by the Saudi Geological Survey (SGS) on Thursday last week.

In addition to gold and copper, the SGS team also found copper ore deposits located in four locations in the Al-Madiq area. This treasure is estimated to attract investments, both local and international, worth US$533 million or Rp8.3 trillion.

Not only that, the other benefit is said to create around 4 thousand job opportunities. The growth in the mining sector of Saudi Arabia is also believed to be helped by the discovery of this treasure.

The Crown Prince's vision, Prince Muhammad bin Salman (MBS), in 2030, which aims to diversify the economy of Saudi Arabia, is also said to be helped. 

Looking back at the economy of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabia's Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Khalid Al-Mudaifer, stated in July that his country has successfully attracted foreign capital for the mining industry worth more than US$8 billion or Rp120.1 trillion.

And in early 2022, Saudi Arabia revealed its plan to attract foreign investment worth US$170 billion or Rp2,553 trillion by the end of this decade. However, the slowing development and mining since 2018 have made Saudi Arabia's mineral resources worth around US$1.7 trillion.
