Viral Video Group of Men Gather at Dusk Lighting Candles at Graves Suspected of Performing Ritual

Dream - Besides death, graves are synonymous with spooky sightings and a place of ritual for some people who believe in superstition.

As seen in the post on the TikTok account @cikgulatt82. The video shows a cemetery in Selat Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, illuminated by candlelight.

The discovery of candles in grave areas is usually associated with shirk activities such as worship and black magic.

The account owner was passing through the cemetery area on a motorcycle with a friend. The atmosphere was dark, with lighting only provided by the lights from the building next to the cemetery.

However, when they arrived at the end of the grave, the account owner recorded two lit candles on a grave. Strangely, there were no people around the grave.

"The incident happened at Selat Klang Cemetery. There is a grave with candles. The motive? I don't know," he wrote in the video.

"But tonight, I intend to go and see what has been placed. There is no one to be seen. But the candles have been lit. If there are people, maybe I can ask. Who is responsible for lighting the candles in this grave?" he continued.

The video went viral and received various responses. Netizens expressed their fear and wondered about the actual motive behind the strange act.

Several locals appeared in the comments section and claimed that such incidents were not new.

"A few days ago, my father's friend removed the candles. He put them back."

"There have been several times before where there was a grave with candles. Last night and the night before, no one saw it, maybe it went out because of the wind."

"I was there before Maghrib, there were four or five men in a crowd at the grave and they lit candles. I was also surprised by whatever ritual they were doing, I don't know."

"Just last Friday. Showed it to my husband. He got angry, asking why I scolded him. Came home, took a shower, and prayed," wrote some people.

According to the e-Source Fatwa website of the Malaysian Department of Islamic Development (Jakim), all forms of superstition and black magic, whether in practice or belief, can lead to polytheism and contradict the faith and Sharia of Islam.
