2. Jay Y. Lee

Jay Y. Lee holds the number 2 position for the third consecutive year. He is the heir to Samsung and has been the Chairman of Samsung Electronics since October.

His current wealth is US$8 billion, down from US$9.2 billion due to the decline in demand for memory chips and smartphones.

3. Seo Jung-jin

Pharmaceutical figure Seo Jung-jin rose to number 3 despite his wealth decreasing to US$5.7 billion from US$6.9 billion.

In March, Seo returned as chairman of his Celltrion group, two years after stepping down from the role, and has pledged to focus on acquisitions.

4. Kwon Hyuk-Bin

Kwon Hyuk-Bin is the founder of the third largest gaming company in South Korea, Smilegate, and is one of the successful gaming companies in South Korea.

Kwon Hyuk-Bin ranks as the 4th richest person with a net worth of US$5.2 billion, down from US$6.3 billion.

5. Kim Beom-su

Kim Beom-su, who ranked number 1 in 2022, has now dropped to number 5, as his wealth has almost halved to US$5 billion. His internet giant stock, Kakao, fell after criticism of its monopoly-like status.
