Who doesn't know dangdut singer Happy Asmara? Yup, this beautiful singer is widely known by the Indonesian people thanks to her popular works. She visits stage after stage to entertain dangdut lovers wherever they are. But, did you know that Happy's early career did not start as a dangdut singer? 

Various Careers Ever Attempted by Happy Asmara

Happy's career began when she was chosen as a model for a local children's magazine at the age of 10. Then, when she was in junior high school, her singing talent started to show and she began practicing her vocals.

As time went on, Happy sang for various events, such as weddings, became a sinden (traditional Javanese singer), and participated in local festivals. She even briefly ventured into being a rocker and punk singer with a music group in her hometown, Kediri.

Then in 2016, when she was in high school, Happy auditioned for D'Academy season four in Surabaya. At the end of the audition, Happy received a golden ticket from Dewi Persik. However, due to one reason, she did not continue her journey in D'Academy.

Nevertheless, in 2019, Happy started to rise to fame after releasing singles titled "Salah" (Wrong) and "Tak Ikhlasno" (Not Willing). In 2021, she released the single "Dalan Liyane" (Other's Path) which once again went viral on social media, including YouTube. The music video she released successfully trended on the video-based social media platform.

After going viral with her dangdut songs, Happy expanded her wings by acting. She played a role in a short-parody film called KKN di Desa Penari (Ballet). The 1999-born singer also produced and starred in a web series called Srintil Mencari Cinta (Srintil Looking for Love).

Not stopping there, Happy also released her first studio album titled Bikin Happy (Make Happy) in March 2022. 

With her high popularity in the dangdut industry, it is no wonder that Happy is nicknamed "The Queen of Ambyar" (a style of heart-wrenching dangdut) and "The Queen of Broken Heart". Her fans are called Pashati (The True Happy Asmara Troops).

New Song Release Titled Shopee Maszeh

In recent times, many Pashati have expressed their longing and hope for Happy Asmara to release a new song. Their wish finally came true as the beautiful singer released her newest song, which quickly skyrocketed on social media.

A week earlier, Happy uploaded an Instagram reels on her account @happy_asmara77.

In the short video, Happy wrote "Wis bosen karo kopi? Tenang, ana sing anyar dariku" which means "Tired of coffee? Don't worry, there's something new from me."

Many Netizens Became Curious

Netizens immediately pursued Happy's post. Among nearly 1,000 comments, many wondered what new thing Happy meant in the video.

"I'm a fan of black coffee, but I won't refuse if there's something new from the beautiful @happy_asmara77," wrote @may.mdm.

Various well-known Instagram accounts, such as @lambe_turah, @koplo_in_ajah, @dangdutindonesia_id, and @musikdangdutt, also uploaded this video of Happy Asmara. They were also curious about what new thing Happy would present to her loyal fans.

Netizens' Curiosity is Now Answered

But not long after, the curiosity of netizens was slowly answered. On Monday (May 29), Happy Asmara finally uploaded a new music video on her YouTube channel, Happy Asmara Music, Instagram @happy_asmara77, and TikTok @happyasmara. Her latest song is titled Shopee Maszeh.

"Tuku opo wae, Shopee Shopee maszeh. Mesti gratis ongkir, Shopee Shopee maszeh." 

That's a snippet of Happy Asmara's latest song - Shopee Maszeh, which means "Buy anything, Shopee Shopee maszeh. Definitely free shipping, Shopee Shopee maszeh. A reliable shopping place, Shopee Shopee maszeh."

Just within a day after its release, the MV of Happy Asmara - Shopee Maszeh on YouTube has been watched nearly 3 million times. Until Monday (June 5), the video has received nearly 10,000 comments from netizens and has been liked by more than 17,000 accounts.

These comments praise the catchy song Shopee Maszeh sung by Happy Asmara. They admire the lyrics, rhythm, and the voice of the 1999-born singer.

"I watched it with a smile on my face, you look full of smiles throughout the song, happy, always happy," said Aryha Noegraha.

"I really like this sister Happy, she has a unique voice that is very pleasant to listen to, addictive. I believe this song will go viral and trend. Amen, always success for sister Happy," praised the account Tentang Desaku.

Moreover, several top artists also uploaded snippets of the MV Happy Asmara - Shopee Maszeh on their Instagram, such as @raffinagita1717, @attahalilintar, and @aurelie.hermansyah. They stated that they really liked this latest song by Happy Asmara.

Then in the Ambyar Indonesia Contest which aired on Wednesday (31/5) on MNCTV, Happy, known as the Queen of Ambyar, performed her latest song Shopee Maszeh, which is said to be the “Most Ambyar Dangdut Song in 2023”.  

Meaning, just a few days after its release, the song Shopee Maszeh popularized by Happy has already shaken the Indonesian dangdut stage.
