Soimah Complains about Tax Officials, Feels Treated Like a Corruptor and Visited by Debt Collector

Dream - Singer Soimah's confession about the misconduct of certain tax officials has been widely discussed on social media.

Soimah admits to receiving unpleasant treatment from certain tax officials.

She feels offended by the behavior of officials who treat her like a corruptor.

"Paying taxes is our obligation. Pay taxes, pay. Report taxes, report. We are aware of that, Soimah won't run away. Her house is clear, but treat her well. So I feel treated like a ba*****n, like a corruptor," said Soimah, as quoted by brilio.net from the Mojokdotco YouTube channel.

Soimah admits that since 2015 she has been visited by tax officials without prior notice, and they even enter her house compound without permission.

"They open the gate without permission, suddenly they are in front of the door as if I'm trying to escape. I was suspected of having an inspection. I explained that I am an artist who is suspected of what. They should be polite if they ask us, right, because we are the ones who pay," she said.

Soimah still remembers being suspected by tax officials when she bought a house worth IDR 430 million. When informed of the price, the tax authorities did not believe it.

"I bought a house for IDR 430 million, made a deal with the seller. 'I will pay in installments, sir, I will pay my payment in installments'. Okay, agreed and it was paid in full. We went to the notary, not dealing with taxation because they didn't believe it. 'Oh, the house is worth IDR 650 million' they thought I lowered the price, even though we made a deal, there was a receipt," she said.

Soimah admits that she feels upset because she is not treated well. Even when building a pavilion, she was visited by tax officials and her house was surrounded.

"They came (visited), from 10 am to 5 pm, measuring the pavilion. Are they tax officials or construction workers? The tax officials have calculated nearly IDR 50 billion, I don't even know the total cost of what I built. The latest one, this year, I received a notice with inhumane language, like a thief," she said.

Soimah's family has also had unpleasant experiences. The house where her sister lives was visited by tax officials accompanied by debt collectors. There, the debt collectors acted rudely by banging on the table.

"Tax officials came to my sister's house, bringing debt collectors. They banged on the table. They brought two debt collectors. Then they once said that they received a letter saying that I, as a tax official, refused to meet. Even though my position is in Jakarta, my sister is considered to be hiding me. Even though I appear live on TV every day. But we received a letter like that," she said.

Vacationing in New York, Soimah Busy Looking for a Hose to Water the Trees

Dream - Soimah Pancawati apparently was not in Indonesia at the end of 2022. She went on vacation to New York, United States, with her family and some close relatives. This was known from several photos and videos posted on her Instagram account.

On New Year's Eve 2023, she went to the iconic Times Square, which was bustling with people. This area is always the main destination for New Yorkers to celebrate the New Year.

Soimah's family, including her husband and two children, as well as Caren Delano and Mamuk, her colleagues, were seen posing against the lively backdrop of Times Square. She also shared a funny moment when she saw trees in the Nw York area during the day.

Sad to See Fallen Leaves

While exploring New York, Soimah went to a park and saw many trees with fallen leaves filling the park. Interestingly, this artist from Yogyakarta felt that the trees needed to be watered immediately.

"Why do I feel sad seeing the dry leaves?" she wrote on her Instagram account.

She then gently touched the trees with fallen leaves and tried to find a hose to water them. Soimah's actions in New York certainly attracted comments from netizens.

"Just bring the tree home, it's useless there, it will definitely be greener in your house," wrote one account.

"Looks like you want to bring a broomstick and a bucket, right, mom? Sweeping," wrote another account.
