For the first time, the Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko and the Chairman of the Democratic Party and Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning/National Defense Agency (ATR/BPN), Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), met in the same place.

Based on Liputan6.com's observation, the full cabinet meeting led by President Jokowi started at 09.30 WIB. One of the agenda items in the cabinet meeting discussed the preparations for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 H. Before entering the State Palace, the ministers and heads of state institutions greeted and had friendly conversations with each other. This includes AHY, who was attending his first full cabinet meeting and greeted the other ministers.

AHY arrived earlier at the State Palace. When Moeldoko arrived, AHY was having a conversation with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Hadi Tjahjanto, as well as the Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.

"While Moeldoko, greeted and chatted with Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas and Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo. AHY himself was standing not far from Moeldoko. Then, Moeldoko approached AHY who was engrossed in conversation with Hadi Tjahjanto. Moeldoko and the eldest son of the 6th President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), shook hands and had a brief chat."

When the meeting started, Moeldoko sat in the front row. Meanwhile, AHY sat in the second row behind Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung. AHY said there was no specific time to meet Moeldoko. He mentioned that he attended the plenary cabinet session to establish relationships and get acquainted with all the ministers in the Indonesia Maju cabinet.

"Special time (meeting with Moeldoko)? Well, if it's a special time, I don't know. What's clear is that I came to fulfill the invitation for the plenary cabinet meeting. What's clear is that I don't want to be unfocused. First of all, I came to participate (in the meeting) properly," said AHY. "I also want to get acquainted, establish good relations with all ministers of the Indonesia Maju cabinet because everyone is a colleague. Everyone is a partner that I need to know and have a good relationship with," he added."

It is known, the relationship between Moeldoko and AHY is not good after the conflict of the struggle for the Democratic Party. At that time, Moeldoko was elected as the chairman of the Democratic Party according to the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) of the Democratic Party, on March 5, 2021.

The KLB was initiated by several Democrat politicians who disagreed with AHY's leadership, such as Marzuki Alie and Jhoni Allen. The conflict continued into the legal realm. The Supreme Court rejected Moeldoko's appeal regarding the management of the Democrat party on October 3, 2022.

Moeldoko had previously filed for a judicial review (PK). However, the Supreme Court rejected it again on August 10, 2023. AHY continued his leadership in the Democratic Party. The party joined the Indonesian Coalition for Progress, supporting Prabowo-Gibran in the 2024 Election.
